Also, from the novelization of TDKR:
“Now that the Dent Act had made it all but impossible for the city’s criminals to cop an insanity plea, it (Blackgate Prison) had replaced Arkham Asylum as a preferred location for imprisoning both convicted and suspected felons. The worst of the worst were sent here, except for the Joker, who, rumor had it, was locked away as Arkham’s sole remaining inmate. Or perhaps he had escaped. Nobody was really sure. Not even Selina.”

"Nobody was really sure. The Arkham guards are kinda fucking stupid like that. In short, no one gives two shits about the Joker. Maybe he went into the mountains to fuck some cowboys. I certainly don't know.... Anyway, back to the plot..."

why would she know anyway, she was a con-woman
[editline]31st July 2012[/editline]
actually, even though I wanted to like her, she bothered me through most of the movie, not the acting but the character
[editline]31st July 2012[/editline]
and the attributes that were given to her that we received no explanation of:
expert martial artist, con-woman, cat-burglar and acrobat (what with all the flips and somersaults and whatnot) with knowledge of how to drive batman-vehicles
felt campy to me
Woah guys. Now imagine Batman in Star Wars.
WHUUUERE ARE THEE DEATH STAR PLANS!?!?!?

I genuinely meant what the significance of that was
like the way he posted it was in 'now do you get why x happened' way
Thank you

i haven't seen this since it came out lmao.
I think I was overwhelmed by this film quite a bit, cause I don't really remember a lot about it.
I'll have to see it again to pick up on all the little nuances I missed the first time around.
Catwoman so sexy
I like how they made her character subtle.
I like how they made her character subtle.
Look at her again and tell me there's anything subtle about her.
Just been thinking, if I hadn't been seeing it with a group of guys I'd have bawled at Michael Caine's acting, it was incredible.
There were several times tears almost came out but I held them in because I was with friends

Nah what I meant was how they incorporated Catwoman as a character into the graphic novel approach. It's not that in your face Hey look I'm a cat and I purr at the end of sentences.
[sp]Maybe Bane's quick death was some sort of message about how guns make winning so much easier? so while there are all of these fistfights are happening, there are guns that can take out the strongest opponents, even when fired by the weakest (not implying catwoman was weak) of characters.[/sp]

Yeah I'm really glad they didn't do that shit.
I would have yelled "bullshit!" in the theater if she said "purrfect"
[editline]30th July 2012[/editline]
also [sp]After Talia was revealed as the main bad guy Bane was really no longer needed in the story, yes he could have had a better death, but I understand why Nolan killed him off the way he did.[/sp]
Yeah I like how no one refered to her as Catwoman, and she never did any of the more comical catwoman things like pur, carry a whip and have a revealing costume which limits practicality.
I wish she had a whip.
If the Joker gets to hand out playing cards and Scarecrow wears a gas filter that looks like a potato sack, Catwoman can have a whip.

Nolan clearly didn't want her to be a theatrical version of Catwoman.

The way she put her goggles on her head made em look alot like a set of cat ears.
Just finished watching Batman Begins from start to finish because I only ever caught parts of it on TV. Great movie. Even greater thanks to Liam Neeson. I wish Katie Holmes played Rachel again in TDK, she did a much better job than Maggie Gyllenhaal acting-wise, and it didn't help that Maggie had a slight pig nose and a voice that was borderline grating.
Spoilers, but here is a comparison of Bane's voice from prologue and final film. I still prefer the final film, Nolan's choice was best IMO.

The dubbed audio is growing on me.

the new theatrical dub is a million times better (acted too)
when he says with no survivors in the new one it doesn't sound right at all.
it sounds very right, it sounds much better
the first one almost sounds like a question
with no survivors? compared to WITH NO SURVIVORS!!

yeah but you forget he's breaking his cuffs at the same time. so when you see it and hear it it doesn't sound right
i still like the old track better. it blended in with everything and he sounded more fucked up. i don't hate the new version, just like the old one better.
