watching TDKR for the 2nd time atm, and I still get chills down the spine when batman first appears.
the arkham games were about as serious as you can make the riddley, and that still wouldn't be that interesting in a movie
In my opinion Jokers plan in The Dark Knight always seemed more Riddler to me. The way nobody knew what was going on and the fact Jokers plan wasn't very funny. Just add a few riddles when Batman's all "WHERE'S DENT!?" and you got your Riddler story. Riddler could work as a mysterious sort of character that hacks into Gothams infrastructure and literally takes it down while hosting some giant riddle game where people are trapped in Saw like traps. It'd be very tense and an interesting depiction of how great intelligence means great responsibility.. oh wait. [editline]2nd August 2012[/editline]
The reporter called him a Skype father, implying that he never sees his kids and raises them through Skype. Dick.
Hardy himself often says he's a Skype father in interviews. I think it might have been the other questions combined with bringing his personal life into it that sent him over the edge. [editline]2nd August 2012[/editline] Also most fans think Riddler was in The Dark Knight. Mister Reece is supposedly the Nolan psycho genius. Coz if you say Mister Reece out loud it sounds like Mysteries. Benedict Cumberbatch would make a great riddler.
Regardless if he's a "Skype father" or not, it was a highly inappropriate question that was asked at the wrong time/place.
The theme was pain. I don't understand how you missed that underlying theme. How long will you let pain control your life? How long can Bruce be Batman? How long can Gotham endure Bane's reign. It's about suffering and enduring. Sure Alfred said that in The Dark Knight, but that was morally. This is about how long Bruce can actually physically be Batman and making sure Gotham has a savior. [sp]Also how Talia suffered the pain of losing her father, but endured enough to get literally right next to Bruce to use her "slow knife".[/sp]
If I may add another point, the story for this film took inspiration from 'A Tale of Two Cities' by Charles Dickens.
Saw the movie finally. It was pretty awesome, but [sp]I hated that when Bane died, it was just like BOOM and he is gone, nobody gives a shit about him anymore. Was it because now Talia was the main villian or what? Like, Story builds up on Bane, then there is an explosion and then Talia is the boss. That was really fucking weird. [/sp] And if all [sp]Batmans vehicles have auto-pilot, why couldn't he oh god i don't know maybe control his cars from a distance? Or call Bat to him? [/sp] And I got a little confused with the ending, why did Alfred stand up. Was he about to go away or to go see Bruce? Or was it just so you could think up the ending yourself? That kind of promised a possibility to continue with a new movie. Also, does anybody remember what happened with Joker in the ending of TDK? Nobody of us remembered it.

IDK though because I watched it again recently and I didn't see that scene.
Regardless if he's a "Skype father" or not, it was a highly inappropriate question that was asked at the wrong time/place.
Why can't they do the simplest task of staying on topic? Just ask him about the movie.

[sp]He only went to the cafe in hopes to see Bruce and said earlier if he did see him, he wouldn't say anything and just go on with his life[/sp] And Joker [sp]was arrested[/sp]

Did they even mention the Joker in the third film? I know Heath is dead and Nolan's views but it didn't feel right not even giving a little nod to the character.
not in the movie, although he's apparently referenced as being the last person in arkham asylum in the film's novelization.
Awww. They could've had a random thug mention him at least. "Hey, where's the Joker * dialogue about how the city is going to shit and how the Joker would be capitalizing on it" "blah blah he's holed up in Arkham" Still loved the film of course.
Hardly underlying, I was in pain the entire time watching the film.
Wow, how do you react to actual bad films then?
In my personal opinion, these three films are the best that Batman has ever given us aside from the Arkham games. 2005-2012 is the the perfect era for Batman shit.
I don't know, the 90s animated series was pretty incredible.
I don't know, the 90s animated series was pretty incredible.
Batman Beyond was great too though since that's Terry I don't think it counts all that much.
Alfred stood up to leave. And he looked just like he would go towards him. And that he stood up right after he got his wine or whatever. [/sp] And how the fuck do you [sp]Keep Joker in a fucking jail, wouldn't somebody help him out of there? Like the Penguin or whoever? [/sp] And I can't remember Batman Begins for ass, gonna watch it with my sis soon.
Awww. They could've had a random thug mention him at least. "Hey, where's the Joker * dialogue about how the city is going to shit and how the Joker would be capitalizing on it" "blah blah he's holed up in Arkham" Still loved the film of course.
From IMDB
No reason is given whatsoever in the film for his absence. Christopher Nolan was adamant that there would be no mention of the Joker. "We're not addressing The Joker at all. That is something I felt very strongly about in terms of my relationship with Heath and the experience I went through with him on The Dark Knight. I didn't want to in any way try and account for a real-life tragedy. That seemed inappropriate to me. We just have a new set of characters and a continuation of Bruce Wayne's story. Not involving The Joker." He is neither seen, heard, nor mentioned throughout the whole film. In the novelization of the film, it is suggested that the Joker is now a lone inmate at Arkham Asylum. Another reason is that Nolan thought that no one could do Joker role as Heath Ledger did.
Just saw it. I liked it. The ending was good and there were plenty of great moments [sp]Bane going mental when his mask got damaged and punching holes in a pillar, Talia revealing that she was the child (I already knew she was Talia but I didn't work that out).[/sp]. The thing that surprised me most was Catwoman, I really didn't see how she could be portrayed well by Anne Hathaway, but she was really really good.

Though the tale of her escaping from that prison hole told me she would appear at some point.[/sp]
I enjoyed TDKR when i went to see it, but for me it wasn't as good as The Dark Knight. The part where [sp] Batman chases Bane and then gets followed by all those cops [/sp] was awesome, but the rest of it seemed kinda shallow at some points. I was hoping [sp] every would of made a bigger deal about Batman returning (not just the cops) because he had been gone for years and near the end when he gets out of the pit and goes back to the city, he should of been seen as a hero by everyone there (He even did the whole flaming bat symbol to announce he was back) as it when they needed him most really [/sp] It was a great movie though.
And how the fuck do you [sp]Keep Joker in a fucking jail, wouldn't somebody help him out of there? Like the Penguin or whoever? [/sp]
Penguin doesn't exist in this film series, and nobody would break Joker out of Jail. Everybody in the mob was basically terrified of him. In the end the mob he was working for started ratting him out as he was finding ways to slowly kill them all off. In the novel version of the film it implies that he's missing.
Where was Superman whilst all this was happening, it could have been solved very simply, although the film would have been much shorter.
What would a realistic take on Superman/Clark Kent be?
What would a realistic take on Superman/Clark Kent be?
An alien from krypton that is very fast and strong.
What would a realistic take on Superman/Clark Kent be?
Terrible.
What would a realistic take on Superman/Clark Kent be?
Man of Steel.
They only way I would even consider watching it is if Superman's only weakness isn't kryptonite. There's only so much interesting stuff you can do when green crystals/rocks are the only thing that can harm you.
