They only way I would even consider watching it is if Superman's only weakness isn't kryptonite.
There's only so much interesting stuff you can do when green crystals/rocks are the only thing that can harm you.
That's never been his only weakness. He's also weak to MAGIC.
I want a film about Steel.
That's never been his only weakness. He's also weak to MAGIC.
So green rocks, and magic?
Oh yeah, that makes it much more interesting.
Where was Superman whilst all this was happening, it could have been solved very simply, although the film would have been much shorter.
Batman always tell superman to fuck off whenever he's ready to give a hand so I think he stopped asking after a while.

um... they already did it.
um... they already did it.
It's one of the prime reasons I tend towards Marvel over DC. Marvel heroes tend to be balanced. In many cases, they're just ordinary people that have access to some type of tech, or an ability that doesn't necessarily make them all-powerful.
Nolan exploiting that in the trilogy was a great thing, he really drove home the point that Batman was more symbolic than anything else. I'd been worried they would try to make him be a "true" superhero, the type that solves everything with his bare hands. Really, he only handles the physical aspects of stopping the supervillains, but stands to inspire Gotham to take down crime as a whole. Exactly how the Bat should be.

ummm
I'm not sure what version of marvel you're reading but the current x-men/avengers fight has seven people that have the phoenix force aka the strongest fucking power in the OMNIVERSE kicking the crap out of each other.
I suggest you read tower of babel and identity crisis before making snap judgements on either universe.
magneto is p fuckin overpowered these days
What would a realistic take on Superman/Clark Kent be?
I always hated how Kryptonians were always just space humans that are supposedly a million times more intelligent and stuff yet Supes never displays this trait, he should be able to outwit Lex Luthor in a second.
Anyway, I'd have it so Kryptonians didn't actually look at all like humans, but instead some highly advanced androgynous beings who evolved to manipulate their surrounding particles with their minds, and they face extinction from something (a black hole idk) and send off their last remaining member of the species. When it arrives on Earth it picks up the DNA combination of the first thing, which happened to be pa Kent, and recombines its own DNA to match, with the result that the powers of its own species manifest themselves in different way such as super strenght and flight etc, but nowhere near the level of the pure species members. This could explain why Supes looks like a human and thinks and feels like one.

I thought of this while falling asleep so if it's retarded, that's the explanation

Uh wouldn't his smartness be determined by his own upbringing on earth? They can't just naturally be super intelligent.
The same way that you are naturally more intelligent than a chimp
The same way that you are naturally more intelligent than a chimp
Yeah but everybody knows Clark Kent was retarded, that's the real reason his parents got rid of him.

An oxymoron.
An oxymoron.
Honestly I think 'Aliens' is a good enough explanation.
Made this a long time ago:

That's not really an issue of someone being overpowered though. It's an issue of them possessing a power they can't control. Even split between five (not seven) people, it corrupted them, and most people who've had the whole thing were pretty much going to destroy everything whether they wanted to or not if they weren't stopped.
just came back from the theatre, this was my 3rd viewing
and now I think i'm done

But...His punishment must be more severe!

Um, yeah it is an issue of being overpowered. That's literally the heart of the struggle. Having more juju than you can control or should make judgements about. And as you'll see, it's more than five.
[sp]I've noticed a missing scene. Remember the part where catwoman was supposed to ride the bike out of the building, and crashed into the imax camera?[/sp]
And my favourite part is still the [sp]police chase[/sp]. So fucking epic.
[sp]Out of all my friends I'm the only one who seemed to like the little hints at Robin in this movie, like when batman was talking about how if you're going to work alone you need a mask or whatever, when he was talking to him, and at the end when we found out he was named robin and found the cave. I thought it was a cool thing to put in there, personally.[/sp]
Jesus fucking christ. I saw this fan made Joker clown mask made of resin, and the last I check was 20 bucks for bidding. Now its 150. Fuck, now I can't get it.

Saw it again today. Easily 10 times better the second time you see it. All unanswered questions are answered.
Except I was confused about one thing. [sp]When Jim is at the court and is sentenced to death by exile, Bane says "Bring her to me" and we see Tate (Talia) being dragged to Bane. The next scene is Bruce being reunited with Fox and Tate, while Catwoman takes out the men that are guarding them and they all walk off. Cue some action and stuff. Then all of a sudden Batman is looking for Tate, who is now 'imprisoned' by Bane.
So Bane talked to her, sent her to sit with Fox, then after they escape she runs off to see Bane again. Or she was not meant to be in the scene where Catwoman breaks them free. Because that would have made a lot more sense.[/sp]
Ahh well nitpicking, great movie.

That sequence is out of order, maybe they will fix it for the home release?

I thought it was painfully obvious who he was from the trailer they ran on TV before it came out.

[sp]It was pretty alright, he was portrayed in a way that did feel pretty fitting and not as cringeworthy as Robin sometimes can feel... However, I still felt that the final reveal of his real name felt terribly cheesy.[/sp]
