Okay, this has been bugging me since I saw the movie.
[sp]I know that Bruce Survived, but HOW? Yeah, the autopilot was fixed, but the camera shows him in The Bat while he flies it oversea. How the hell did he get out, and what did he use to outrun the nuclear fucking explosion that would cover a really large area?[/sp]

[sp]The camera shows him sitting in the seat of the cockpit, but does that mean the cockpit is in the Bat?[/sp]

[sp]It's a time cut. You saw him sitting in the cockpit but that was to trick you, it was him driving earlier I guess[/sp]

Or hey it could be dodgy writing. The guy who writes Call of Duty was a writer on this. Which is probably why the plot races along to a rather sudden, pointless and over the top battle filled with needles destruction and devastation that would never get to that level in reality, just like Call of Duty.
But hey it was still a great movie so who cares.
I dislike the [sp]cockpit theory because it definitely sounds like a bunch of bs fans wrote because they can't accept that there's a clear error in the filming.[/sp]
I think it's nothing more than some dodgy writing. I actually do still think it was a last minute change tbh. It feels rushed and unpolished, and clearly had some plotholes in it. [sp]I think that either Nolan just pussied right the fuck out of killing the Batman and decided instead to just cop out and try not to make anyone angry that he killed a superhero. (that, or Warner Bros didn't let him do it, and he had to rewrite the ending to make him live) [/sp]

Also, I feel pretty confident in saying [sp]they included the cockpit shot not to show he ejected so he could survive, but to solidify the fact that he was still in the Bat when the bomb went off and he dies. [/sp]

The Nolan brothers have mentioned on several occasions that they knew the story's ending before they wrote TDKR and I really doubt they ever had any intentions [sp]to kill off Batman/Bruce Wayne entirely, and TDKR's ending makes sense from the past two films. Their Bruce Wayne is someone who doesn't want to do this forever, unlike in the comics where it is his lifelong mission to fight crime.[/sp]

I think they had the concept of [sp]Bruce faking his death[/sp] since the beginning, but I agree their implementation of it could have been better.
For example, Superman. I fucking hate Superman.
Why? Because he's too perfect. You know that he's going to save the day, no matter what gets in front of him to block his path. He's boring.
With Batman, you don't know if he'll succeed because he's flawed, which makes him more interesting.
Well, usually. Sometimes people forget that Batman's allowed to fail and the result is The Dark Knight Strikes Again, in which Batman becomes an omnipotent genius who orchestrates the destruction of the government, kills Luthor, and beats the shit out of Superman.
Since Batman has no clearly defined weakness beyond mortality, I feel like he ends up failing even less often than other superheroes.

I think Grant Morrison writes him well.

Ho ho ho, Grant Morrison. I like Grant Morrison, but probably not for the reasons most people do.
I think he's batshit insane, and I love it. Dogs that talk numbers. That's a real thing.
Or Final Crisis, where Superman freezes time and fights a vampire lord in another dimension. It's totally mental.
[editline]12th August 2012[/editline]
Or, also during Final Crisis, when a bunch of heroes lead an assault on Limbo and invade the Library of Limbo, which only has one book, which is unreadable because it contains an infinite number of pages that all occupy the same space.
So yeah. He's batshit insane.
I am totally buying whatever Super Deluxe trilogy they inevitably have lined up for Xmas. Just saw this movie, its fucking amazing.

Anyone that creates a villain like professor pyg must be at least a bit mental.
Marvel's biggest risk is gonna be Ant-Man
edgar wright is handling ant-man, so i'm not worried in the least bit.
edgar wright is handling ant-man, so i'm not worried in the least bit.
Oh, I'm not either.
I love Edgar Wright and apparently the Comic-Con test footage showing how his powers would work went over GREAT, so I'm not worried in the least.
I'm more nervous how the public will recieve it, like with Thor or Captain America, where shit REALLY started to get out-there (ie. cosmic beings who resemble space vikings and firhgt giant ice people and also a blue guy who fought WWII with a shield made of unobtanium, battled Agent Smith (who had his face melted off), and got frozen in the arctic before being thawed out in present day).
Thankfully, with the success and mainstream appeal of Avengers (you don't have to have read the source material to enjoy it), Ant-Man will probably get the benefit of the doubt from the un-initiated.
Fucking ouch.
Eh, it's been running for four weeks now, it couldn't stay number 1 forever and Avengers also managed 3 weeks at #1.
Granted it is doing worst than the Dark Knight by about $51 mill, which managed one more week at #1, but it's still damn impressive. I don't see it breaking a billion and I'd be surprised if it broke into the top 10 domestic/top 20 worldwide for box office records, though.
It only needs $30 million more, dude. I'd be surprised if it didn't.
Oh oops the chart i was reading hadn't been updated for this weekend's earnings. Then yeah it should manage that.
Unfortunately, I think the biggest blow to The Dark Knight Rises' success was probably the tragic shooting in Colorado. All advertisements were pulled afterwards, and even though it was already hyped up before the shooting, I think that if it had those ads, it might have pulled in a lot more coin.
Without a doubt, especially with the weekly attempted copy-cat stories. All that shit was doing a grand job of scaring people away from theaters. Plus having the Olympics going on probably didn't help much either these last few weekends.

Yes Rusty, we get it, you hate her, but looking up shit on her on crappy celebrity gossip websites is sad.
I didn't look her up, I browse that site. It's hilarious and in no way meant to be taken seriously. It's just being mean to celebrities.

exactly
if you actually read the articles you'd see it's a comedy gossip website
They may have been all smiles for the camera during TDKR press tour, but sources say that down-to-earth Joseph Gordon-Levitt actually can’t stand his costar Anne Hathaway. Joseph says she’s always acted like an insufferable snob toward him and that the awkwardness got so bad between them during filming that whenever she’d walk into a room, he’d have to immediately walk out of it.
It's alright, we don't need to cite anyone if we just say "sources say". Their source could be a homeless guy or something.
comedy gossip website

All 3 Films in one showing at Imax Sydney.
I'm not sure if my bladder could endure such trauma.
You get toilet breaks, unless you wanna sit there during the credits and while they change the film reels around.
you know there are such things as intermissions right
You're a pretty emotionally delicate person compared to when we were kids and you used to kick be in the balls and abuse me a lot.
My mental state has vastly deteriorated since we were regularly in social contact.
Also, I saw the film and you guys sort of lied to me considering a [sp]certain someone's mother in a certain prison in a certain flashback of certainness.[/sp]
Spoilertagging just in case vague language of vagueness isn't good enough.
Actually there was sort of an implied rape scene. [sp]Talia's mom being dragged away, no?[/sp]
What this guy said.
Anyways, I enjoyed the film.
i didn't get any rape vibes from that either
it didn't really show or tell enough to even imply that she was raped

So they just dragged her away for tea and crumpits?
