or to kill her
you're reading too far into it, it isn't even that important of a thing

But if you don't read too far into films, how can you nitpick and ship characters and make WILD theories?!
1.) I'm not saying don't analyze films I'm saying sometimes it is what it is, and it's not an important enough detail to matter anyway
2.) shipping is stupid why would you even talk about shipping in a batman thread
[editline]14th August 2012[/editline]
It's a batman movie not some shitty romance webcomic

I know, I was being silly. I do that a lot because I hate myself.

[sp]Come on, they clearly took her away to rape her and then kill her.[/sp]
look what if she was what if she wasn't it isn't important I'm just saying, it didn't show or tell enough to imply it to the point where it's anywhere close to being clearly what happened
It's a batman movie not some shitty romance webcomic
Yeah but it's grounded in realism and exposing how humanity can be disgusting. It's not a bad thing rape was included, it fits the film well.
Rape isn't really romance either.
It literally could have gone either way and is not explicitly stated or explicitly implied, people get dragged away in movies all the time and it's not automatically rape because it was a woman being dragged by men. I absolutely did not get rape vibes from it even when I had that pointed out to me. It's dumb how you can say OMG SHE MUST HAVE BEEN RAPED just because it's a chick. Like if it was her dad that got dragged away would you have figured he'd have gotten raped too? Even if it was an all female prison? Like seriously dudes.
[editline]15th August 2012[/editline]
I mean I have no problem with rape in films either (as long as it's in context) but it just doesn't feel like what happened here.

I wonder what would have happened if Bruce had agreed when Tate offered for them to get in her plane and fly away after they had hooked up...

Probably would have had him killed or something.
"Get in my plane and fly away"
"Okay"
"I ca- wait what? The fuck? No this isn't the plan, you've RUINED EVERYTHING FUCK"

"you're such a dick Bruce"
I saw this movie Monday night and it just reaffirms my belief that anyone who lives in Gotham is fucking retarded
it's like wake up in the morning and you get to choose whether you're going to be in danger of getting stabbed, recruited for an army, blown up...
[editline]15th August 2012[/editline]
You know what I take it back
You don't get to choose at all, it's just a dice throw at the beginning of the day
I also love the gigantic army of a police force Gotham has but that's never been news

Well Dark Knight Rises takes place 8 years after Dark Knight, so I'm assuming that Gotham became a decent city to live in during that time period (probably due to the army of police). From what I understand, Gotham is supposed to be like Pittsburgh/Baltimore/NY so I guess people live there for the same reason any other person lives in a big city.
If we're talking about comic book Gotham, then yeah, I guess it's pretty retarded to live there.

Actually, that police force is miniscule to the amount of police in New York, acorrding to TV Tropes.

Because they're both big, cinematic cities and because Gotham is a fucking awesome name for a city.

the name gotham itself comes from a village in england that, in order to avoid paying taxes, acted batshit crazy when the collector came around.

Interview with JGL on the ending of TDKR:

Saw this at the cinema on Tuesday, but it looks like I'm going to have to buy it on DVD....
I'm hard of hearing, just in high pitches, but sometimes in movies it can be problematic, as I can find it hard to distinguish what people are saying. So planned to go to a Subtitled showing, get their, they had cancelled it for a normal showing, go in anyways as we had gone as a whole family and were eating out after, get in, probably caught about ten words throughout the movie, and didn't really have a clue what was going on. Even my dad said he found it difficult to hear, and his hearing is fine. The music seemed really loud in the back ground, and the theater may have been shitty.
So I can't give an opinion on how good it was really.. oh well.

I've been to cinemas with terrible sound systems, it really dampens your viewing experience.

When I saw Indy4 (I'm sorry) the sound was crackly and it cut out sometimes too, and then it looked like a corner of the screen was cut off.

Has anyone got the Alfred crying scene anywhere? i'd love to just watch that over and over.

Don't be sorry, I think we all went to see Indy 4 in theaters on release day.
Never again will I ever see another movie on release day.
Yeah because mistakes like that repeat themselves.

I'm just saying I've never had a problem.
This TDKR review (with a conservative bias) is so hilarious: http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Hollywood/2012/07/21/Dark-Knight-Rises-Review-Nolte

Insane review and fucking stupid commentators.
Reminds me of that one guy who said The Dark Knight was a defense of George W. Bush.
