Just went to see it again. I still get shivers during Bane's Speech outside of [SP]Blackgate[/SP]
Just went to see it again. I still get shivers during Bane's Speech outside of [SP]Blackgate[/SP]
To be honest, I thought Bane's long speeches about giving Gotham back to the people got pretty tiresome after a while. I was really just waiting for things to move on. Also, after watching it again, I have concluded that [sp]the second Bane fight was my favorite part of the movie. Yeah, arguments have been made about how it was mostly just punches to the face or whatever, but it was awesome regardless. It was really dramatic, well filmed, and had an excellent score playing in the background, so it just felt really badass and satisfying. Not to mention that it was great to finally see Batman get one over on Bane, after their previous encounter, and everything else Bane did throughout the movie.[/sp] Not sure if that really counts as a spoiler, but I tagged it just in case.
You have a strange definition of protagonist.
who's to define "strange?" bane stole the whole show; to me he was p. much the main character
Think before you post.
i did, and that was my opinion. we all have a right to one, but the second i post mine you peeps go "wow your opinion is weird and differs from mine therefore you're stupid"
I suppose in a sense you could view Bane as a protagonist with Batman was the antagonist. Not really but sort of, yea.
yeh this but with the "kinda" in there
I got this one by Olly Moss
Nice looking but I don't see how the text really relates to the image. It's just a generic Batman with the nolan logo for eyes, standing there just staring at you (obviously). It seems like something I'd draw up if it had to be dark knight rises related and I had 5 minutes left until it's due in an Art I class. "here teach its related to the new sequel look at the title on his chest and uhhh his eyes are the nolan logo can I have an a now?"

Bane IMO stole the show for me.
Better than the Batman & Robin Bane.
oh god remember when everybody posted that bad photoshop of tom hardys face from bronson onto the batman & robin bane
related Bronson never ceases to amuse me. It disturbs me and amuses me at the same time
I live about 2 miles from the prison Bronson is at. Didn't even know until like, last year when a friend told me.

He wouldn't mind. He's a really sweet guy and replies to all the letters and post he gets, even sends autographs. Apparently he hasn't even raised his voice in a decade and these days is aspiring to be a singer. That said apparently the justice system still treats him like dirt, Hardy said he visited him and he looked like a husk of a human being. A massive husk that is, the guy is still built like a house. Hardy is still in contact with him, the two became very good friends.
No. Batman was in it a lot more than Bane, he just wasn't doing his typical Batman shit.
I think this was my biggest problem. Whenever he's Batman, it's AMAZING (seriously, that first reveal was spectacular), but he's only Batman a few times over the course of a 3 hour movie. Some parts dragged a bit, but overall it was a pretty good movie, just not my favorite in the series.
I agree that it's not the best one. But going in I knew it couldn't be better than the Dark Knight. That movie is untouchable. The script is flawless and of course Heath Ledger. Rises has some scripts problems but it's still a really good movie. Christopher Nolan got the chance to actually have an ending to Batman and even though the movie wasn't perfect it's still an incredibly satisfying conclusions
The script is flawless
No, it's not, all the Nolan Batman movies have problems, people just focus on TDKR's problems more because of how high TDK set the bar. Go watch again, it has it's fair share of problems. And I think TDKR is a better movie, Bane as a villain is far more compelling then the joker, who's only goal is to create chaos, Ledger is the only compelling thing about the joker really. Bane actually has reasons why he does what he does, and you almost kind of feel sorry for him at the end.
Go visit him sometime, see how he's doing. Maybe bring a gift basket or something.
I'd write to him but I don't even know where to begin and what to say.

I agree that he's a better villain than the Joker, I just wish his story arc had a better ending.
Guys I had an amazing idea + http://www.foddy.net/GIRP.html

Believe me, it's got it's share of stupid shit. Like how Bruce and Rachel totally survive falling off a skyscraper and landing on a taxi hard neough to cave the roof in, but they're not injured in the slightest. And then it just goes to the next scene while the Joker is still in the party (I guess he just got bored waiting for Batman to come back and left). [editline]27th August 2012[/editline] Still an amazing movie though.

AFAI Remember, he just wanted to piss about with Dent.
dont forget the scene where maroni slowly enters his car and the moment he sits down the car is already moving at normal speed
Maybe Dent threatened the driver to keep driving before anyone got in, and they just didn't feel the need to show the car picking up speed.
dont forget the scene where maroni slowly enters his car and the moment he sits down the car is already moving at normal speed
That's so ridiculously nitpicky that it could hardly be considered a flaw.

AFAI Remember, he just wanted to piss about with Dent.
nah, the fall was at least 100 feet from the party. dent's fall was about 2-3 stories, which can be survived.
nah, the fall was at least 100 feet from the party. dent's fall was about 2-3 stories, which can be survived.
Batman's armor at that point only enforces bone structures and his back. His marrow and joints still took a ton of abuse. Hence the trip to the doc and the enforced legs in Rises. If you think he didn't feel those cars he always lands on, then you're joking. or did the long talks with Albert about bodily abuse just not happen in your films?
how is it nitpicking if you can see the actor settling his body into the seat as the background shows the car has already been moving
It's a goof and something like this
Maybe Dent threatened the driver to keep driving before anyone got in, and they just didn't feel the need to show the car picking up speed.
can't be used to justify why it's there. It's a mistake, that's all.
how is it nitpicking if you can see the actor settling his body into the seat as the background shows the car has already been moving
Because who cares really?
Butthurter cares!
Hmm this just might end up making a billion dollars and beating The Dark Knight after all. We'll find out in a few weeks.
Saw this three weeks ago. I liked the whole [sp]"Robin" thing at the end,[/sp] it was very thought provoking.
Fixed.
