Eh, Dredd was better.
I really need to see Dredd, I heard it was fucking AMAZING.
Well, the hype has died down and I still have to say that this is the best movie of the year so far. The only other film that will even hold a candle to it will be The Hobbit.
Hmm.
Saw Batman twice. Was very good. But all this time on it's not really stuck out in my memory like other films I've seen. I was one of the 2 people on the planet that really liked The Amazing Spider-Man. Still got Avengers going round my mind, it was shot just like a comic book.
But without a doubt Looper beats them all.

ASM was good, but, y'know... Dredd.
Cabin in The Woods, Perks of Being A Wallflower and Holy Motors are all films better than Dredd The Avengers and Rises
Not that any of them were bad
So, I've always been pretty disappointed with the soundtrack cover for TDKR, especially with what we got for the Dark Knight soundtrack, (at least, originally. The deluxe was just a grey background with a black bat logo.)
And now, with the complete soundtrack, the cover hasn't really much improved. It's the poster nobody likes and a redundancy of bat logos...
Anyway, I made this: (It's the same poster Rusty used above with the same font and style as the TDK soundtrack cover.) I've had it for a while but for some reason I figured someone else might want to use it?

I didn't make a back cover or anything, sorry if that's a deal breaker.
My favourite for the year was Avengers, just because it was everything it had to be.
DKR was great, and ultimately a better movie. But it wasn't everything people hoped it to be.

It was for me.
I honestly thought the avengers was really mediocre. It was more like a michael bay movie. Really not much more than a big budget spectacle, and Robert Downey jr steals the show along with Mark Ruffalo, meanwhile Chris Evan's as captain america doesn't really come across as "the leader" to me. IMO chris evans was a bad choice for Captain America from the start, so that just might be my personal bias clouding his performance.
DKR on the other hand, again, the single most impressive thing for me was how Nolan managed to weave such a big epic without it feeling unrealistic or over the top/hammy, which it very easily could've become. The only bad thing about the movie was some parts felt undeveloped and crammed in, which is understandable given the scale.
so after a few months i think my single biggest gripe with this film is that nolan redid the audio for the intro. not only do i dislike the new bane dub but a side effect of making bane "louder" was that they lowered all the other sounds including the music. when i saw the 6 minute prologue you could fucking feel the sound (gun fire, drums, etc) in imax, when the actual movie came out you couldn't. hopefully nolan retools the audio again for the bluray release.

going to watch it again tonight though at school's movie theater
Here's a funny pic someone made with Romney mixed with Bane.

I wonder if, while writing that, Nolan imagined Bane talking in that voice.
One of the best scenes from the film, if not the whole trilogy:

I felt that The Avengers was a special effects montage and that's it. I know it couldn't be made without CGI, but those sort of movies just don't impress me anymore.
I'd rather watch a film made by someone that clearly likes films for what they are (Nolan used IMAX instead of 3D) and the result seems more refined.
Having said that, I can see why The Avengers was popular. After years of films being made seemingly just to make this huge 'event film', I suppose I just feel like I was being taken for a ride.

I've never seen The Avengers/Avengers Assemble, and my friends who have seen it say that it's good if you don't go in expecting a lot of story and depth from it.

i always thought he was a big guy compared to him, and never once realised it could even mean 'that it would be extremely painful for you'

I wasn't even aware this was a dispute, I just took it as bane saying 'It would be extremely painful [pause] for you'

it's been a running joke on 4chan since 2012, I always found it hilarious
i didn't realise that Hardy actually enunciated it like that on purpose

When you watch TDKR once or twice, you won't even bother with analyzing the lines, they're not important. But when the hype has gone in 2012 and 2013 this film become watched dozens of time to find the most flaws to prove that it's the weakest of Nolan's film, trilogy etc. This scene in particular. Just by going on /tv/ regularly I can recite the entire scene from my memory, and yeah it's really bad when you think about it. Starting from ridiculous accents of mercenaries and Dr Pavel, hilarious wooden acting from "CIA Guy" Aiden Gillan, one-liners that doesn't make sense, bad dubbing that is so ominous and louder than anything else in a flying plane - and the list for actual film goes on and on.
my problem with batman 3 is it feels less in tune with the first two and the fact that there's a huge time-gap doesn't help with the continuity. Surely more must have happened within Bruce Bale in that time than just becoming older and stiffer.

It was almost there, idea-wise but as a whole apart from the nice picture quality I didn't get a great deal out of it.
IMO the most glaring issue is that catwoman never should have had a place in it, along with the get-out-of-jail-free software. Imagine all that extra screen time they could have dedicated to so many other things.
aidan gillen was the best part of TDKR
I just like watching Batman Batmaning.
