I don't know whether to celebrate (new Batman!) or panic (can they outdo The Dark Knight?).
This is going to be fucking sweet. This could be one of the best, most consistent trilogies ever. Definitely the best Superhero trilogy.
Too bad it's not a superhero trilogy. Bat's a vigilante.
the comic batman&robin ..................................................................................
Which reminds me, if they do two villains, I want Mr. Freeze and Catwoman.
IMO Something between the Scarecrow (who is still around; Batman didn't put him away or anything) and Bane would be really cool *deep voice on* "I'm not wearing hockey pads."
Actually, yeah, he did put crow away.
bane should cause he is the man who broke the bat and who can forget the incredible portraying of bane in the amazing movie batman and robin
Seems like Bane and Catwoman are good choices. If they were to do Mr. Freeze (and somehow not make him look rediculous in Nolan's universe) I would think Tobin Bell could play it well. And since Rachel is dead it could be possible to add in Talia al Ghul. I would think Wrath could fit well into the series. Who knows.

i bet you at least one villian will be a chick; help stir things up a bit. [editline]11:14PM[/editline]
He did however concede one tidbit: “It won’t be," he said, "Mr. Freeze.”
so you can cross that one off
Do you think Nolan is going to have a hat-trick with all 3 movie villains being psychologically themed?
I want Mr. Freeze.
I don't know, the concept of Freeze always felt a little goofy to me, unless they show him as a stone-cold (ha, ha, pun) badass like they did in the 90's animated series.
Do you think Nolan is going to have a hat-trick with all 3 movie villains being psychologically themed?
God, no. Just remember Spiderman and the Joel Schumacher Batman movies. An assload of villains makes for less character development. Even in a 2 hour timeframe the movie will be too fast paced and just stupid, and God knows we don't want another reboot. Also, Robin. I think the Batman movies could do without him, since his chracter is just kind of primitve, and might end up being used as a foil to Batman

I've wanted to see a good performance of the Mad Hatter. That and the Riddler might make a good film.
I'm more curious to see what exactly they will do with The Joker. The last we see of him in the Dark Knight is the SWAT team go after him (we assume he's taken in, but you never actually see it.) It's probably a safe bet, if anything a quick mention of the Joker will be made to let the audience know how he ended up (Dead/Thrown in jail.) I also wonder what Nolan would have done with The Joker had Ledger not died. Whether or not he would have kept him going into the third movie, and had him as major villain again.
time for another dull, overhyped movie.
That's exactly what I thought about The Dark Knight. Until I saw it. So shut up and judge it after you've seen it.

The Scarecrow scared the shit out of Batman and made him come to terms with his origins, The Joker shook Batman up by challenging everything he stood for, and ultimately won by fucking him over, so he's saying there should be a similar villain in the third one who seriously throws Batman off-balance. Also, Nolan already said he isn't going to have Robin in his Batman movies.
Thank you for clarifying.
Johnny Depp needs to be in this, Maybe the Riddler? [editline]12:44AM[/editline] In the Dark Knight the real ending was Batman cutting the rope attached to joker and him falling to his death but since Heath Ledger died they just left him there hanging,

I love the dark style of these movies. They are just great! Personally I can't wait for a 3rd one, hopefully they'll have Freeze or Riddler, but it would be cool to have The Penguin again, a dark character, darker than the one Danny DeVito played..
Too bad it's not a superhero trilogy. Bat's a vigilante.
Just because he's a vigilante, doesn't mean he isn't a superhero.
In the Dark Knight the real ending was Batman cutting the rope attached to joker and him falling to his death but since Heath Ledger died they just left him there hanging,
uuum, no? And besides it doesn't make any sense. He originally died, but since the actor died they made him live? Batman has sworn an oath not to kill people. He won't be the executioner, he won't be the judge. He just makes it easier for the authorities to deal with them.
Tbh if they end it with batman just giving a sort of monologue i'd be satisfied as long as they had a thrilling story with some of the good villains in there, could the ending of this trilogy possibly tie in with Nolan's upcoming Superman movie? would be awesome if it did then they go on to do a JL movie after the Green Lantern film........ah one can hope!
If the Joker was captured, there is a chance we could see Harley Quinn? will be hard to do tho since Heath is dead :/

Superman is one of the gayest superheroes. You can't really make him bad ass when he is wearing tights.

Also i think Bane. that dude is badarse. he broke batman's fucking spine in two. [editline]11:55AM[/editline]
Batman doesn't kill people, even bad people.
Uuuh in a couple early comics he shot a few criminals. i can distinctly remember a Comic page i saw online(And IRL eventually) That showed him shooting a guy who then fell out a window. David Tennant should do the riddler. If Hamlet did anything it proved Tennant is the first Doctor who can play a role OTHER than The Doctor. Tenant said numerous times it's his dream role. And Nolan has a tendency to cast Scottish and British actors.
I'm really curious to how they'll do this with no Heath Ledger.

David Tennant is brilliant at saying things quick. he'd be fucking brillo
I'm really curious to how they'll do this with no Heath Ledger.
Joker isn't the only villain in the Batman universe. And Heath Ledger isn't the only good actor. Actually if he didn't die people would only say "Wow he was a great joker". But because he died everybody is "HE WAS THE BEST JOKER AND NOBODY CAN REPLACE HIM AND BATMAN IS RUINED"
