:what:
I know people are saying "faith in Nolan", but I'm starting to lose it.

That's pretty much what i pictured the Batwing would look like tbh, a flying Tumbler.........and thats awesome it beats the hell out of the rumor that it was going to be a helicopter variation.
Nobody believed me, I have now been vindicated. Also, looks awesome, can't wait to see what kind of epic chase Nolan is planning.
[editline]13th August 2011[/editline]
Also, the fact that it's not CGI makes me smile.

Because films look exactly like the raw footage after post.
Also, how will you guys change the batwing? I'll probably just add some wings to it. Looked too stubby.
Since it's mentioned few times, I won't spoiler tag it. The Batwing looks pretty good. Nice that Nolan seems to still do it for real and not depend that much on CGI. I consider not coming here seeing all this footage. I knew very little about TDK and it was a blast. Right now, we already know about Bane, Catwoman and [sp]Thalia[/sp]. I remember learning about Two-Face actually being in few weeks before premiere. That made thrilled a lot because I wanted a proper portrayal after Batman Forever for a long time.

I'm not bothered by that.
What happened to the series being plausible?

What's so implausible about the Batwing?

....What.
....What.
Nolan has stuck to the realm of reality for his movies. No magic or really far fetched ideas.

I don't know much about aerodynamics but I can tell that it wouldn't fly

How the batmobile could jump roof to roof, even with a jet engine, its not really realistic.
So yeah Nolan stay in the real but it's a Batman movie.

Wow, that's great. That would definitely get CGI'd the fuck out of by most others.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to tell you that a cube isn't aerodynamically sound. Look at the fucking thing.
People, stills and audio from the pre production shoots just give us ideas of how the characters will look and some insight into the plot. Not how the film will look through the lense.
And people assume all the designs for the characters are final.
Catwoman will most likely not end up wearing those goggles for the majority of the film, Bane might not have an old mans voice etc.
We cannot criticize or judge anything until more official footage taken from the final film edit is released.
(Also this is not really aimed at the majority of the people in this thread, just a rant about people on the web picking at just about every detail from the stuff released regarding the new film)

Its not cube shaped at all?
Cause it looks nothing like a god damn cube.

Batwing isn't that out of place. VTOL's exist already

im bothered most by anne hathaway
Rotors for the Batwing will supposedly be post CGI'd in
Anne Goaway
I have not actually seen films with Anne Hathaway, what makes here so bad?

Her acting.
She was especially cringeworthy in Love and Other Drugs.

I don't reckon she's a bad actress, she just hasn't really been in any serious films, they've mainly all been comedies.
Although her performance at the oscars was quite dry...

My point was that a cube is a horrible shape to be going through the air at high speeds.
The BatWING also seems to have nothing on it to generate lift. What GodKing posted at the very least has wings. But if rotors are supposed to be CGd in (as in Helicopter ones) then it makes a bit more sense. Still don't know why the jet engines are all fucked up though.

Well, don't forget Bruce Wayne has billions and an R&D department.
