Good old Nolan, always reusing actors any chance he gets.
I think hardy would make a good riddler
Ooh, can't wait, this is gonna be awesome. BOO on Nolan for not recasting Joker with Joseph Gordon-Levitt though.

Recasting the Joker would've been pretty high up there on the dumbest movie making decisions ever. Good thing it's Nolan who is behind this.
Ooh, can't wait, this is gonna be awesome. BOO on Nolan for not recasting Joker with Joseph Gordon-Levitt though.
First rule for superhero movies: never use the same villain twice, unless it's a reboot.
First rule for superhero movies: never use the same villain twice, unless it's a reboot.
They don't have to use him as the villain, but they can't just leave it as is, they didn't even explain what happened to him. I figured at least a cameo would suffice, even if Batman were to visit him in Arkham ala Silence of the Lambs or something. Joker is Batman's arch-nemesis and he's a mad genius, he frequently escapes from Arkham, so for him to just be captured and sit stewing in a cell doesn't make any sense. As long as they tie that up somehow, it's fine. And besides, why wouldn't the villain work twice? Have you ever seen a superhero movie franchise with the same villain twice consecutively? No, because the superhero movie fad didn't really start until Spider-Man in 2001. Arguably, they did reuse the Goblin, but they always had a second, different Goblin in the comics. I only say they should recast him because they've got a great actor who is almost Heath's twin brother in terms of looks. They could pull it off easily.

For Nolan's batman series, the Joker is Ledger, that's just how its gonna be. Besides, Nolan was good friends with Heath and has already said he isn't going to do something as lame as recast him so that's that. Having something new for the third and final film would really be best anyways. They've got to out do themselves for this.
Well in the Nolanverse that's exactly what happened.
Well, maybe I'll just rent the third one on DVD.
Well, maybe I'll just rent the third one on DVD.
just because you won't see the Joker again? haha alright, you do that. I'll be busy enjoying this on an Imax screen.
just because you won't see the Joker again? haha alright, you do that. I'll be busy enjoying this on an Imax screen.
Joker is a pretty fucking important character in the Batman mythos. They can't just go "Whelp he's gone now, deal with it" I AT LEAST want an explanation or some kind of MENTION. Not that it matters to Nolan, since he has a billion fans and fifteen trillion dollars now, but I will lose a little respect for him if he doesn't touch on this. That being said, he's still an awesome film maker.
I still think they should do more with the Scarecrow.
:wtc: Godking? 1/6 of the worlds population is a Nolan fan? And goddamn he is fucking rich if he has that much. Oh wait he doesn't. Joker had his part, it doesn't matter if he's a key villain, they're are plenty of others and Joker is just the Kingpin of them all, he was dealt with and now there's room for some others, How can you pass up on seeing the goddamn riddler?

END OF JOKER'S STORYLINE IN NOLANVERSE.
Joker fell in chemical stuff to be what he is in the batman comic For nolan he's just another psychopath

Comic story is not the movie story, they will change things as they see fit. This shouldn't be that hard to grasp. But the fact you're actually complaining this much about something you're just assuming they will do is silly. Why don't you just wait and see what they're planning.
Hardy seems a good choice but I fail to see what role he can play. (then again, I was amazed at Heath. Mainly because I was expecting a gay cowboy instead of joker) Just trying to think what character he would be best as. EDIT: Managed to rate myself dumb and just thought of someone. Shark Minor, unknown character but seems perfect for him to play.
Scarecrow got a goddamn second go in Dark Knight but THE JOKER, Batman's fucking arch nemesis, can't get a little screen time in the third movie?
little known fact: Ledger is no longer living. Again, Nolan was friends with Heath and also recasting him would piss off a lot of people. He's gone but that doesn't mean they can't still give a mention of what happened to him. So wait and see.
just because you won't see the Joker again? haha alright, you do that. I'll be busy enjoying this on an Imax screen.
I'll be busy enjoying this SEVERAL times on an IMAX screen, and then buying the DVD.
Considering this Joker is just a psychopath with no real strength, I'm pretty sure he won't be breaking out (he also didn't have the intelligence of the comics Joker).
If you guys saw IGN Predicts Next Batman Villains, you might have stumbled upon Azrael. Putting the Riddler on would be a bit goofy, however Azrael would completely fit with the Nolanverse. Nolan would really be able to pull it off well from ign
In the comics these days, Dick Grayson is Batman and Bruce Wayne… isn't (long story). But this isn't the first time that Bruce has let the mantle of the bat fall to someone else. Back in the early 1990s, after the villain Bane broke Batman's back, Bruce had no choice but to appoint a new Dark Knight -- the hero formerly known as Azrael. All gussied up in a technologically enhanced suit of bat-armor, this character became the new Batman… until he went off the rails (people got killed and whatnot!) and Bruce was forced to reclaim the gig for himself. This could track with the basic premise we've heard about Batman 3, as mentioned above. If Batman gives up on crime-fighting early in the film, perhaps he appoints a new Bat. Or maybe a new hero simply rises from the crime-ridden streets of Gotham to fill the void left by the true Batman's departure. Either way, a Tom Hardy high-tech Azrael/Batman versus a Christian Bale old-school Batman could be pretty sweet… and it would also be a topic of interest for Nolan with the whole "how far is too far to protect Gotham" argument. Speaking of which, Hardy might also make for a good Bane. The character, so terribly mis-portrayed in the hateful Batman & Robin, can actually be pretty scary. A monstrous, 'roided-up killer, Bane's physicality isn't too far off from Tom Hardy's character's in the violent Bronson. Also, there's pretty much no chance of Uma Thurman showing up in Batman 3 to boss Bane around.
The first movie was showing how fear can be a friend (In batman's case + Scarecrow) The second movie was about the evil in everyone The third would be how far people would go to do good Perfect tri-theme of morality. I Absolutely love IGN's Azrael idea
Battyman 3 spoiler: Batman dies.
I don't think Riddler would be too goofy in Nolanverse I mean he'd just be a crazy psychopath who likes to make riddles

Wait... Also, that's all I expect, they don't have to recast and give him a part, I just want some kind of throwback. And it better not be something like "What happened to Joker" "Oh he was shanked and killed within 10 minutes of entering Arkham good riddance."
I'll be busy enjoying this SEVERAL times on an IMAX screen, and then buying the DVD.
Yeah. Just wish I had a legit imax closer to where I am. Hate those mini AMC imax's.
More like a case file from arkham of the new vilain and under it is the casefile of the Joker and they show it for like 10 seconds Only joker reference that would be acceptable
More like a case file from arkham of the new vilain and under it is the casefile of the Joker and they show it for like 10 seconds Only joker reference that would be acceptable
I disagree but whatever let's drop it, it's still gonna be awesome no matter what.
I forgot, they didn't have Rachael in Dark Knight because the actor who played her in the first film wasn't available for the second and she IS that character in real life as well. Wait...
yes because rachel being recast has fuck all to do with either point I made regarding joker not being recast n1. that's such a bad comparison honestly. Joker is locked up and you can easily just ignore him, Rachel wasn't and was an active part of the story, they had to recast her. also katie holmes actually was available for Dark Knight, she just decided not to return and instead do some comedy movie called Mad Money instead.
