Slow news period on this movie...
compared to other movies this one gets a shitload of media coverage.
compared to other movies this one gets a shitload of media coverage.
The question is- will it make as much money as the Dark Knight, and furthermore can it be as good as the Dark Knight? I'm seriously concerned that this movie cannot possibly live up to its predecessor- It lacks the titular villain of the Joker, plus Heath Ledger's performance was so legendary that it practically sold the movie on its own, plus garnered most of the praise for the movie. Can this movie possibly live up to that? Frankly Catwoman, even if she's probably one of the other most famous villains other than the Joker, she's really taking the backseat to Bane right now. And as cool as Bane is, he's nowhere near the popularity of the Joker. So I'm afraid that it might have trouble making as much money. And as for the movie itself critically, I feel like it's taking a lot of dangerous chances; Batman in the sunlight? Bane's unintelligibility, which Nolan agreed to only alter slightly? I dunno, I'm concerned. Still gonna see it like a million times though.
It lacks the titular villain of the Joker.
Titular? Coulda sworn somebody else was the Dark Knight.
Titular? Coulda sworn somebody else was the Dark Knight.
Shh- don't criticize my misuse of the English language
i think tdkr will be a great film but many critics will look back at tdk and say this one wasn't as good and thus bash it. i think if you look at it separately it will be good, but critics need to compare AND see how it holds up on its own basically the success of tdk could doom tdkr with the critics
compared to other movies this one gets a shitload of media coverage.
How? there is like no coverage in Scandinavia and how in all hell can it out-mediaspam the shitstorm that was the Ledger-suicide and the following over-hype of the Joker? Which was a good Joker. I mean. It wasn't even a batman film when the sensational press was done with it. Neither was it when Nolan was done "Honoring his performance".
For all you schmucks out there that think you're creative, here's your chance to show it: http://batman-news.com/2012/03/19/the-dark-knight-rises-official-t-shirt-design-contest/ Design a t-shirt, potentially get picked up Nolan, and win $$$$$$
Wow, the viral marketing are really slow
Wow, the viral marketing are really slow
It's only midway through March- the movie comes out at the end of July. There's like 3 and a half months left for it to pick up, don't worry
Kind of want to see this at Sydney Imax but I know it's going to be absolutely packed to shit
"No, I except you to die, Mr Wayne".
"No, I except you to die, Mr Wayne".
Read that in Dr.Strange's voice for some reason.
Read that in Dr.Strange's voice for some reason.
So did I!
Welp once again Nolan is skipping out on Comic-Con. No Dark Knight Rises appearance there at this year's comic-con (july 12th)
Welp once again Nolan is skipping out on Comic-Con. No Dark Knight Rises appearance there at this year's comic-con (july 12th)
isnt he gonna be busy with the actual release and all the hollywood shenanigans around it by then
isnt he gonna be busy with the actual release and all the hollywood shenanigans around it by then
Even if he wasn't able to show up, WB could still try and throw SOMETHING together instead of totally passing on a great advertising opportunity (though I guess the film doesn't require that much advertising) But whatever, apparently the film will be at CinemaCon again April 24th.
(though I guess the film doesn't require that much advertising)
That's probably what Warner Bros. thinks. Besides two trailers and 6 minute intro that movie has no marketing. I don't know is it good or bad. They could learn from Prometheus, that movie has some great campaign.

The movie has been classified as a PG-13:
I think we all expected that The Dark Knight Rises would receive a PG-13 rating, but now we know why! Straight from Warner Bros.’ Exhibitor website comes the rating for “intense sequences of violence and action, some sensuality and language”. I think we can assume that Catwoman will be bringing some sensuality to The Dark Knight Rises. Language too? Maybe Bane will drop an F-bomb. For comparison, here are the official reasons for the PG-13 ratings for Batman Begins and The Dark Knight: Batman Begins – intense action violence, disturbing images and some thematic The Dark Knight – intense sequences of violence and some menace And if you’re looking at the image above and wondering what’s under the “synopsis” tab… it’s currently blank. We’re still waiting for Warner Bros. to release an official plot summary. My guess is that’ll come some time next month, maybe along with trailer #3?
http://batman-news.com/2012/04/08/the-dark-knight-rises-receives-a-pg-13-rating/ http://www.nolanfans.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=9142
thats sad
some sensuality
Dark Knight was PG-13 i don't see any problem.
I don't mind it that much, but I'd rather have it being rated R or something
If it was rated R it would make significantly less money, probably.
Not exactly sure why it would need to be R rated anyway.
well, it's just a personal preference, nothing really that important.
No point in it being rated R, PG-13 usually fits the bill perfectly. Shit, it could probably be PG for all I care, considering what used to be PG material back in the 80s.
Dark Knight did a lot of dark and messed up stuff in it for being just PG-13, I have faith in Nolan.
I couldn't see it being anything other than PG-13. It's not Nolans taste to add too much swearing or gore to something like the Batman franchise.
