Just started wearing contacts as of this morning because I only every wore my glasses while driving when I should have all the time. I had to take them out and put them in twice for the optician before she let me take them home, but it still took me half an hour this morning to get them in. Although I do like being able to see all the time now, it's like buying your first HD tv. Are daily disposables any better than the monthly ones which you take out and clean every night? the monthly ones are half the price so I'm using them at the moment
Don't ever get daily contact lenses, they have a horrible habit of splitting in your eye while you're wearing them
Are daily disposables any better than the monthly ones which you take out and clean every night? the monthly ones are half the price so I'm using them at the moment
They're good for nights out if you're too drunk and can't be bothered/are not in a state to clean anything so you just take them out and bin them. But overall I prefer the monthly's by a long shot.
I dealt with my short-sightedness for almost the entirety of school before I finally had an eye test in the 6th form, my right eye cannot see text clearly from about 0.5m, but i thought that was a normal thing for your non-dominant eye. x.x But yeah holy shit, looking at trees with glasses on, see all the braaanchesss [editline]3rd April 2013[/editline] however it means if my PC can't run anti aliasing in a game due to lags, i can just take my glasses off :v:
I don't understand how people can have perfect vision from birth. I hate them all. ;_;
All of my family wears glasses, except my brother. He's a twin with my sister who's eyesight is so bad she had an operation when she was about 6 years old. He on the other hand has brilliant eye sight, something like 20/15
I don't understand how people can have perfect vision from birth. I hate them all. ;_;
Well it's pretty simple, Genetics.. actually.. Genetics is pretty complicated.
I don't understand how people can have perfect vision from birth. I hate them all. ;_;
Habits play a huge role as well in deteriorated eyesight. Some people seem immune to almost every ordeal they put their eyes through, others end up with glasses just by doing their homework every night as kids.
When I was little I kept hitting my eye like right in the middle with my straw while drinking on car rides because I would lean in for a sip and the car would hit a bump. Sometimes I would do it not even in a car. I was not a clever kid.

I've had glasses since the 2nd grade... so 10 years or so, roughly. Sometimes when I'm on my PC and I forget to put them on, I'm constantly trying to push them up because the screen looks slightly fuzzy. I don't mind wearing them aside from not having any peripheral vision. I actually went around 3 months without wearing glasses or contacts, and could still see well enough to drive. It's more of a convenience than anything, wearing glasses. Contacts suck though, I once had the contact in my right eye fold up and get wedged in the corner of my eye where I had to dig it out. Needless to say it was very painful and I haven't wore them since.
Transitional lens are annoying as fuck. I'm so glad when I got my new pair of glasses, I just bought a pair of prescription sunglasses.
Ive been considering getting some transition lenses, whats so bad about them?
Ive been considering getting some transition lenses, whats so bad about them?
In my case they started to degrade a bit (still work great after like three years now though) and now mine are pretty green tinted when inside and half the right lens is darker than the other half which bugs me to no end But overall they're cool and stuff. I've been wearing glasses for about fifteen years seeing as I'm incredibly farsighted but it wasn't caught until a year or so after I was born (czech my +10 or so in my left eye, +9 or so in my right; I had surgery on both as a toddler) and really it's kinda awkward when I don't have them on because I keep pushing up nothing and I feel like there should be something there.
I've never had to wear glasses luckily, but last year I bought my first pair of sunglasses. As someone who's never taken care of glasses, you should have seen how badly beat up they were by the end of summer.
Ive been considering getting some transition lenses, whats so bad about them?
Cant speak from experience, but from what I understand, they activate from uv light. Note that windows absorb uv and your glasses might not transition to the shaded mode indoors. Not sure what Sir takeslot is talking about though, there might be something else about them.
My last experience with contacts was a year back, tried to remove 'em after a night of too much drinking. Nearly poked my eye out. Do you folks get told that you look older when wearing glasses?
contact lens wearer and glasses when not. lazy eye. right is a lot worse than left, even with correction. is it normal for my nose to obscure most of my vision when wearing contacts (or no glasses)? for example if I were to look left, I can only see out of my right eye and the huge blob of mass that is my nose blocking my vision leftwards and vice versa? when trying the above whilst looking at a mirror, the eye that i'm not looking with seems to be positioned correctly (also looking with the 'looking' eye)
My left eye is -7.75 and right eye is -8.25. My vision has been weakening steadily since 1st grade, shit sucks man. I usually wear contacts because their much more comfortable than glasses. When you've got to wear such a strong glass lens they make your eyes look really small, so that's one other reason I dont wear glasses out in public.
every fucking time "can I wear your glasses" okay "holy shit this is weird" yeah "i cant see anything hahaha" neither can i "can you see with these" no i wear them for fun "i think i can actually see better what the hell" you have cancer [editline]3rd April 2013[/editline] also on the serious side of things how can I effectively clean my lenses because no matter what I clean with everything seems to fog up at night (with AR coating)
Recently started wearing glasses. Everything was suddenly HD

I think I need new glasses, Im seeing my facebook all wrong
Better, or worse? Better, or worse? Better.. Or Worse? :pwn:
these fucking things get dirty on their own i swear
last time i went to the eye doctor i had a migraine and couldn't see shit for an hour before it just turned into my head hurting like a motherfucker for the rest of the day but i wear contacts
My friend had allergies for the first time today, so he rubbed his eyes and one of the contacts came out. His eye was really fucking red.

My eyes are perfectly fine, but I did have to wear glasses for about a year when I was about 7 for some reason.

I started wearing glasses... um... oh god, I dont even remember. My eyesight starts going fuzzy right about the foot mark, and my right eye is a bit more shit than my left. Wearing glasses has actually made it WORSE, because each year they give me lenses that are a bit too good, and my eyes adjust to be even more shit every year.

They are gonna give you lenses for what your prescription is, not something stronger. That would be dumb.

i'm -4.0 in left and -3.75 in right, and i've got astigmatism so i need contacts which are weighted and line in such a way as to allow me to see correctly
