I always preferred contacts over glasses. they aren't annoying to wear and don't get dirty like glasses do.
I always preferred contacts over glasses. they aren't annoying to wear and don't get dirty like glasses do.
however, glasses don't generally break inside your eye and cause immense pain like contacts occasionally do. that happened to me while i was in school a few months ago and it blew having to go the rest of the day without being able to see out of my right eye

I'll find out tomorrow...
Fuck contacts, man. I'd rather go out without glasses
I never got to experience the world in the "wow it's really this beautiful?" kind of way since I started out with perfect vision and it then proceeded to deteriorate to the point that fine details have vanished without my glasses.
Anyone had laser eye surgery? How painful is it afterwards if you had it done? I currently wear contacts and my vision without 'em is 20/140 I think, I honestly forgot :v:
Got myself a new pair prescription sunglasses and some new reg got a small versace frame looks pretty sweet
Just got myself new Porsche frames, I have three + corrective sunglasses and I love all of them. Durable as fuck.
I get to experience this every time I get a new prescription which is about once a year. It's pretty magical until I remember that my vision is deteriorating so badly that I need a new prescription every year.
-3.0 -2.75 (1.5 years ago) with some inherit depth perception issues, Im 6 months over my usual once a year to save money, but when I go this summer you just know its going to be a whole new experience. Seems like I loose ~0.25 each year. Didn't get glasses till the 5th grade; holy shit what are leaves basically. I imagine in 30 years Ill be blind or be wearing laser focusing mirrors on my eyes.
I'm actually not sure how strong my glasses are, but considering my visual acuity is .2/.25 + people can't see anything and they get dizzy while looking through my glasses, I'd say enough. I've had glasses since I was 5 and I'm definitely not planning on getting rid of them even if I could.

She also said that she couldn't see for the following week, because of the eyes healing and that's when you might get headaches and pain inside your eyes, but usually opticians prescribe pain medication to you after the surgery so all is well.
dude with a lazy eye here, it doesn't look weird at all to people like some people with a lazy eye do but everything is blurry as fuck when I look through it

I know there's a few different kinds, and I don't really feel like having a piece of my eye torn off.
I wear glasses. First time wearing glasses, my reaction was "HOLY SHIT EVERYTHING IS UGLY AND CRACKLY AND OH GOD THE LEAVES ARE BEAUTIFUL", and then I got a headache because everything was so sharp :v: I wear glasses only when I'm out now though, or if I'm watching TV. I don't actually remember my numbers, but I'm going in for another check in a month or two. I might have to get new glasses, my eyesight is getting worse.. :( What does contact lenses feel like? I kind of want to try it :v:
Whoa there's a GD thread about us prescription glasses/contacts folk? Neat. Anyway, I started wearing them back in the 2nd grade, now I'm a junior in high school. Farsighted if you want to know, and anytime I give another farsighted person my lenses the usual reaction is "WHOA EVERYTHING'S IN HD ALL OF A SUDDEN". I pretty much wear 'em 24/7 and yeah that's about it.
I wear a single contact :v:
me too
When I got my new glasses (a while ago though), as I put them on, this immediately started playing in my head It was amazing (Also totally the thread music)
I want to try contacts, how do I start and what kind should I get? I'm also legally blind without glasses.
When i got my contacts, I went to the eye doctor and scheduled an appointment for a contact lens exam. The exam is to find out if you are eligible for contacts (most likely you will be) they will then teach you how to put them on and take them off and give you a trial pair with a schedule on when to put them on, if anything occurs during this trial you should tell them about it because usually they can fix it. So, yeah. I remember getting my first pair, when I first put them on I didn't think there was any difference, then I took them off and was amazed. [editline]4th April 2013[/editline] And yeah I likened it to 'turning up texture quality', it's amazing how much stuff you can miss.
Does anyone else get unreasonably mad when you can't get your glasses clean without water? Trying to clean them, only to have them smudge REALLY hard :suicide:
I've been wearing glasses since 3rd grade. My parents realized I needed them when my mom was playing Super Mario Sunshine and I couldn't read one of the text bubbles while sitting barely three feet away from the TV. :v: I'm interested in laser eye surgery at some point, and I can't do contacts. Meh.
Number 1, or number 2? Number 1... or 2... god damn that shit annoys me
Actually I remember that I had a PERFECT vision in kindergarten. I could see all lines of letters and symbols. Then it suddenly degrated in the school. I remember getting my first "C" because I couldn't read the stuff written on the deck, it was the most awful feeling in the world, like I was not a proper human being. So, who else had a great eyesight, but started loosing it at one point or another?
Apparently my glasses give everyone a "fishbowl" effect when they put them on, anyone know why that would be?
Apparently my glasses give everyone a "fishbowl" effect when they put them on, anyone know why that would be?
Could be the thickness of your lens, or your prescription. Or both.
The only real reason i need glasses is because a blood vessel blew up in my eye. Now I have static around most of my right eye. I only really notice it though when i have to only use my right eye.
I have astigmatism but I refuse to wear my glasses
Laser eye surgery, yes or no. I heard it can make you blind. [editline]5th April 2013[/editline] I hate when people want to take on my glasses, they always say the same thing "I can't see shit!"
Apparently my glasses give everyone a "fishbowl" effect when they put them on, anyone know why that would be?
Glasses for short sightedness make the wearers appear smaller, while glasses for long sightedness makes the wearers eyes appear larger. Short sighted glasses are concave, longsighted glasses are convex you're probably long sighted.
Better, or worse? Better, or worse? Better.. Or Worse? :pwn:
About the same
