I just took my contacts off. Everything is like a movie now, but always focused on close-ups, woah I hate to take them off, it reminds me of how shitty my eyesight really is and make me feel inferior for some reason ;_;
My glasses costed $420 am I cool yet
Just bought my first pair of glasses with thin air photochromic lenses. (Not my first pair of glasses ever, just my first pair that have transitional lenses) Ended up buying them from Coastalcontacts.com during their -50% off sale. It will be nice to get away from my cheaper pair of glasses, which, while are nice are almost like magnifying lenses to sunlight. Lessen learned though, never skip out on anti-glare just because you are trying to save a little money.
When I switched from contacts to glasses, IO had the fishbowl effect for a few days. It's probably just a powerful lens.
What kind of surgery did she get? I know there's a few different kinds, and I don't really feel like having a piece of my eye torn off.
I personally have no idea. It's basically a new surgery where they dont take a layer off your cornea, that's all I know.
Laser eye surgery, yes or no. I heard it can make you blind. [editline]5th April 2013[/editline] I hate when people want to take on my glasses, they always say the same thing "I can't see shit!"
Making you blind is a very rare side effect in major shitty cases. (otherwise it wouldnt be a semi-common practice :v:) [editline]5th April 2013[/editline]
Glasses for short sightedness make the wearers appear smaller, while glasses for long sightedness makes the wearers eyes appear larger. Short sighted glasses are concave, longsighted glasses are convex you're probably long sighted.
I can only see stuff close to me well, about 2 meters away. (i think im starting to need my prescription for closer up stuff too now D:)
My current pair of glasses are getting really beat up. I can't wait until I get my new ones.
I wear contacts when I leave the house, but glasses when I'm at home. This means when my contacts get dry and itchy in the evening or if its a weekend and I don't have any plans. Works pretty well for me. Also my prescription has not changed in 5 years. That's good right? (-1.00, -1.25)
I got really teary eyed when I put my contacts in the first time after wearing glasses for the majority of my life. I could well and truly see for once, it was insane. I get that same feeling when I open a fresh pair of contacts and out them in.
I can see okay without glasses but I can't read text or make out major details without squinting. Going on a trip somewhere and forgetting my glasses is awful. Like now.
Whenever your prescription changes and you put on that new pair of glasses, it's so fun seeing everything in such unreal clarity.

Got a new pair today. Been wearing the same pair for a few years now. They were supposed to be temporary because my dog chewed up my first pair but I never got around to getting new ones. Oh well.
Lazy eye, who has it? I was the most badass first grader/pirate with my eye patch.
Apparently I have what comes before Lazy Eye. I remember the eye doctor telling me that although I had poor muscles in my eye, they seemed to be very active and that it didn't appear to be developing into lazy eye. She told me I could get this shit called prism glasses which sounds cool as fuck.
The only real reason i need glasses is because a blood vessel blew up in my eye. Now I have static around most of my right eye. I only really notice it though when i have to only use my right eye.
I have (what I think is) pretty bad visual snow in both of my eyes. It basically looks like a very very light film-grain filter over everything. It's REALLY visible in the snow when everything's the same texture, colour, and brightness.
My transition lenses are aggravating as fuck. My next pair of glasses will not be transitions. Also, I have extra sensitive eyes, so contacts are a no go for me.
Sometimes I just stop in the middle of taking out my contacts and think "I'm rubbing my fucking eyes right now"
My transition lenses are aggravating as fuck. My next pair of glasses will not be transitions. Also, I have extra sensitive eyes, so contacts are a no go for me.
Why are they so annoying? (I'm thinking of getting transitions)
When it fucking rains and my glasses get covered in water drops, then they dry and leave little marks all over them that was my favourite thing about wearing contacts, not having to put both arms over my eyes whenever it rained or be annoyed all day
Nearsighted people have an advantage. Concave lenses make the images smaller. So everyone is small and insignificant to us. Concave lens master race.
I have worn glasses for about 12 years of my life. This year I stopped wearing them every moment I was awake when someone asked for the umpteenth time "Why do you even wear glasses?" I then, of course, started feeling like I couldn't see as well without them than when I took them off when I was wearing them religiously.
My astigmatism is major bollocks, I can't even remember what it was like to be able to see. Ever since my favorite frames of glasses were discontinued all my following frames for some reason are small as fuck Benjamin Franklin circles. For this reason I tried contacts and it's probably the best choice I've ever made regarding my eyes. Having complete vision and no worries about damage to my glasses is a great feeling to the point that I don't quite get the hype of glasses > contacts. Left: -7.00 Right: -3.25

I was born with Amblyopia which is also known as Lazy Eye and I have been wearing glasses since I was 5, but I was wondering what contacts are like and I have thought about getting them so I want to know what contacts are like, mainly with people who have Amblyopia/Lazy Eye.
Got a pair of contacts with better perception. Had a sensory overload. Also, didn't know that school restroom's floor was that dirty.
I can't read anything 2+ feet away from my face unless it's a large font. Anybody notice how when you switch from glasses to contacts, everything appears larger? This also happens when I'm not wearing glasses at all. I wish my glasses didn't make everything "smaller." Contacts annoy the shit out of me. I only use them for waterparks and work.
Back when I changed from glasses to contact lenses a few years ago, I still remember the feel when I actually could see in shower and sauna. I don't know why but it was just so weird.

Am I the only person who feels really bad about needing glasses? I've always had really bad nearsightedness, as in about -3.00 in each eye in third grade, and now in 11th grade I have over -10.00 in each eye (probably at least -11.00 in the right). My parents are also nearsighted, so it's possibly genetic, but they are nowhere near as bad as I am. Last year it seemed like my myopia was plateauing and it'd stop worsening, but after taking a ton of APs this year and straining my eyes like hell, it turns out that my eyesight is still getting worse, and I have high intraocular pressure, so I'm at risk for glaucoma. I also have really bad astigmatism, although I generally just deal with it. I guess my question is, how do you guys deal with eye problems? I get really worried at times about my eyesight and the future. Also, I'm afraid that if I have kids, I'll pass down this giant clusterfuck of eye problems to them and they'll have to live with being effectively blind.
