The game looks ok, but I dont like the whole "level 5 zombie" thing. I wouldn't mind doing some kind of leveling up for how many zombies you kill. I wish It was more of a realistic zombie game, rather than all the zombie leveling, and such.
It's not an RPG in the sense of leveling up and grinding, but the item and quest system is just like an RPG.
You have no idea what an RPG even is then. In an RPG, your character's skills influence what happens in the game rather than your own dexterity as a player. Quests and inventory alone don't turn a game into an RPG, you need the entire main idea of character skills versus player skill.

It's realistic in the same way Left 4 Dead is. Realistic characters, weapons, story, etc, but with fun gameplay. It's already realistic in the sense that you're fucked if you get ganged up on, get killed easily, and have to watch ammunition, weapon durability, etc. I'd rather have Dead Island as it is now than a Dead Island with incredibly realistic/hard gameplay mechanics that leads to a monotonous experience.
Second, there is no third person in this game. This was accessed by a debug command left in the dev version. Third person animations for other characters look fine, however you were never intended to see them for your own character.
They need to work for your own character too - it has dynamic shadows.
She runs the way I'd imagine Slenderman runs

It kinda reminds me of this
Zeno Clash has this too if you force it into third person.
The funniest thing is that the player character has no head, but a stump of a neck instead as if his head was amputated. :v:
that's dev mode
I don't think you see that in the actual game
I don't have it so I don't know
No you do not,not sure whether that's good or bad...Would have been fucking hilarious.

Honestly this is probably the most realistic zombie game I've ever played. It has some silly animations and a couple of bugs here and there but what game doesn't really? I find it sad that people are bashing it for not being a hyper-realistic gritty apocalyptic depression simulator, when really the game is insanely fun the way it is.
As for zombie leveling and arcadey health and experience point pop-ups, that can all be disabled. Hell you can even disable your mini-map.
I haven't played many zombie games, but this one is easily my favorite. Between the RPG elements, the open world co-op, the drivable vehicles and the really awesome zombies ( that are actually a bit of a terrifying threat at times, instead of cardboard cut outs that can be shot down and ignored ), it's definitely the best zombie game I've played.
If anyone misses seeing the animations just look at your shadow in the game.
