I'm sorry to be cynical, but haven't it struck you that they may not have played the Godzilla game? Maybe they simply found no entertainment in it or it is on a shelf, waiting for them to suddenly have a "slow week".

They also have a backlog of about 15 games or so they haven't even beaten. I think. Its kinda hard to tell since they like to add a new game into the lineup every other episode.

two best friends play are great (not the machinima shit, their main channel stuff). they're not [I]as[/I] funny as game grumps but they have some really great discussions, and their personalities work perfectly together.

I just played a game of Mario Party 2 a couple of days ago with friends.
In the end my first friend had 1 star, second had 2 and third had 4.

Are they improvising on their main channel? I do think they are funny, but their obviously scripted stuff was getting a bit annoying.

They do full, non-scripted playthroughs on their main channel.
So far they've done Resident Evil 2, Heavy Rain, Final Fight: Streetwise and Silent Hill: Downpour.

One of them plays through a bit of the games before-hand for their one parters and at least one of them have played through their full-playthroughs before but I don't think they write any material for their main channel. It's not entirely scripted, but it's not a blind run either.
