Their latest videos have a hard time catching my interest, somehow. The more it goes, the faster I get tired of their videos. I barely finished any recent episodes.
Goof Troop was really one of the best "series" if I may call it that.

Take a break
I don't watch gamegrumps every day, I wait a bit then watch them, they're better that way.

Well that was different.
BEST. EPISODE. YET.
You can even hear the Goose say "You're so stu-"
i lost it at the end
haven't laughed that hard in ages
Also am I the only one who gets really tired of their discussions about game design ?
the thing about WoW is that up to max level it's a pretty great RPG
it's just that at that point it turns into dungeon grinding for loot, and then the next expansion/big patch it adds more dungeons to grind for more loot, and the whole game becomes centered on your ability to get magical pants and play your role in a party/raid to get better loot and better magical pants
I think that in and of itself is fine, it's just that they ruin the whole point of collecting pants by constantly introducing better pants
If it was like a static thing and they had like shadowmourne and then added other fucking atrociously difficult to get items alongside it, that would be cool. You know, content that jives with the stuff already released.
Now it's just a big mess of power creep and blegh.
[editline]1st November 2012[/editline]
i mean the other big problem with their power creep style of game design is who wants to fucking get shadowmourne now
they invalidate their own content with this kind of game design
Jon and ego are gonna have grandkids someday.
And then the grand kids will find this video.
And then ego and jontron, being super old, have to explain what the fuck was going through their minds when they made that.
It would be awesome if game grumps kept going until they were like 80. Just two old dudes playing video games.

i like wow's endgame just to experience the content, because blizzard designs some really fun and challenging boss fights
if you get in with a shitty group of people, yeah it's going to be all about the gear and the grind, but if you're playing with friends it's much easier to ignore the magical pants
Aren't all games designed to keep you playing in some way or form? I don't really understand why they have to argue about that.
It's the way you get people to play your game that counts, and WoW is really perverse when it comes to that. It's not about the fun you can get but about the stuff you can put on your character.
In fact WoW pretty much follows the same logic as most facebook games like farmville and such. It lures the player into thinking that if he does the same thing over and over again, he may obtain something new and exciting, and since it's taken so long to obtain it, it's gotta be good. The succession of updates with essentially the same content over and over again pushes the players into going on to unlock everything, despite the fact that it's impossible.
Consider it like a carrot on a stick, except sometimes you get to bite a tiny little bit of it.

That's also the issue with virtually any social game that has ever been released for the past 8 years.
Developers push people to play with other guys they'll very likely won't like. It's the sort of titles you really have to play with friends, but the scale of the games makes it very hard to keep track.

Totally. But it completely falls apart at end end game content.
Like, in WOTLK, if you're fighting through icecrown you need all your people and all your pants in order. And that's the end of the story, so if you want to see the "end" of the game, you have to spend god knows how long preparing so you don't wipe and piss everyone off.

I will defend WOTLK, at the least.
Cause like, the super magical pants item at the end of that was not only part of this epic quest that felt like a real story, but it had story significance. Like, if you had Shadowmourne it was like HOLY SHIT I GOT SOME WORLD ENDING SHIT HERE.
Seriously I don't even get why they keep raising the level cap. End game WoW is about questing for pants, why aren't they focusing on making the pants and the methods of getting the pants more interesting? Like, why isn't that the focus of the game at this point?
It's like, when you play a mage you want to get stronger so you can do things like levitating and teleporting. Why doesn't that idea apply to the pants? Make the pants do cool things. Give the pants stories. Give players a reason to get things and beat bosses besides getting more numbers on their pants.
i played wow for a bit
playing in order to pvp and measure your penis = not fun
playing in order to read the lore and take your time and ENJOY = fun
except i was getting pissed at wow for ruining my warcraft canons also wow in general has shitty writing so i quit, but i had fun being a moon chicken while it lasted
WoW has less voice actors than Elder Scrolls real talk
I quite enjoyed WoW to be honest. I mean it did take a lot of time to get anywhere, but it was an enjoyable experience; especially getting together with some other folks to tackle some big bad guy, each using your own abilities and contributing a specific role.
I liked the winter olympics one because he said san antonio and that's where I live yay
lol at jon on wow
ego is totally correct jon is very wrong
Makes me glad I've never played WoW tbh.
I loved WoW's art style and world. That's about it. Played a dwarf hunter to 85 with some friends and stopped caring shortly after.
I can't get into wow i'm not one for MMORPGs in general tho
anything that requires grinding gets on my nerves
im just like bro all i wanna do is play a game and have some fun
