I do assume most of us use Adblock like any decent human being. So I would assume he doesn't. I know I sure as hell don't. Youtube ads are the worst.
Yes, they can provide their own games, they already have a metric ton of them. But by sending them a game they might actually play it, since you know, there are 56053 bazillion games out there, and you get a nifty shoutout, and if the game is terrible you can even be shouted and yelled at and hated.
Money doesn't have anything to do with it.

but I'm aware that many of the youtube content creators that I enjoy (Vlogbrothers, etc) get a lot of their essential income from monetised videos
I use adblock. But for people I like I'll sometimes load up Opera and watch their videos so I don't have to switch adblock on and off.

Wiimote and Kinect are on par for worst creations man has unleashed upon the world. The Kinect is functionally worse, but it wouldn't have existed without the Wiimote.

I found that the WiiMote Plus controls for Skyward Sword were awesome, I've even used the WiiMote Plus comfortably on PC, such as for mouse control.
Even before the WiiMote Plus upgrade, the accelerometers were accurate enough for excellent controls in Mario Kart Wii, and the infrared camera gives you extremely accurate pointing controls as long as the infrared lights are in sight.
On another point, I think the WiiMote + Nunchuk split allows for some very comfortable sitting positions.
I think most of the WiiMote hate comes from the fact that most Wii games force motion controls even when not appropriate, but I don't think it's the fault of the controller.
Of course, I'm not saying it's superior to other controllers on a whole, it's obviously limited by only having a single analog stick and few buttons, but it's definitely a well designed controller with quality hardware in it, appropriate for many situations.

The technology is there Playstation Move, it seems. It controls fairly decently. It's been a long time since I've played a Wii game so I don't really remember how some of them control. The Kinect, though, is just bad.
The problem is, though motion controls are fairly alright with the Move and Wii, there's no real application for them, so developers have to stretch to incorporate them.
I'd say the wiimote is more preferable for an FPS (or TPS, even) than a controller is.
M/K is still completely superior in that regard, though.
