Yeah, the Master Quest is pretty easy. Its difficulty mostly relies on you trying to play it the same way as the original OOT, which is then punishes you for. If you just treat it as a new Zelda game instead of an OOT spinoff and try to remove OOT from your brain as best as you can, it gets a lot easier.
Unless you're playing the 3DS version. Then it gets really hard with the double damage you take.

Did you make face the boss of the temple? Because if you didn't, get ready to throw your 3DS out of the window.
I don't remember the water temple being that difficult, it was huge, sure, but I don't have bad memories of it. The only thing I hated about it was the fact you had to bring up the menu to de/select the iron boots almost constantly.

The water temple wasn't that hard, it was just tedious for the exact reason you mentioned and the whole water-filling mechanic. It also had a few confusing aspects, like the switch you had to hit with a charged spin-attack.
I can sorta see why Ego would have liked that one a lot as well, because its puzzles are similar in concept to ones from 2D Zelda games.

Shadow Temple's not so bad IMO. It gets a bit frustrating with the hover boot platforming because of how slippy the hover boots are but otherwise I had no problems with it, even as a kid.

i didnt mean to come off as a dick by saying that, but really, he's your brother. were you unaware of his dislike towards video games? or is it just this particular person that he doesn't enjoy? either way, jon is awesome, but you can't really believe everybody you meet will share your interests. even on simple things like a youtuber.
in a non gay way I would love to hug Jon, he just seems so cuddly and lovely

he's trying to make his own indie game right now, and thinking about starting a podcast/video series of some kind, so I showed him JonTron as an example of awesome web series
and he was like
"this guy is dumb"

I actually liked Crisis City in Sonic Generations, it was one of my favorite levels.
i almost died when ego was riding and suddenly steered up towards the ramp road thing, and dead stopped for a few seconds, and resumed at full speed once he moved down
