How does this exist and why was my childhood not spent playing it 24/7?
Because its old as fuck and really quite uncommon as far as I know.
Its called Jurassic Park: Warpath. One of my favorite games because I'm such a dinosaur nerd.
Full on fighting game with glorious blood and wounds that appeared based on where the damage is dealt.
People can think that your opinion is dumb.
Oh no I know. I don't flaunt around that I don't like OoT or Majora's Mask all that much cause to most gamers that's kind of like burning a religious text
We're all entitled to our own fun, some of my top ten games people would look at me and go "fucking REALLY?" so I don't judge
I just don't like 'em :v:
no sonic today
:( oh well, at least i can eat my dinner to game grumps.

Eh, that's fine. In the area of "popular games that I don't enjoy," I'm not a big fan of TF2. I got into it for a little bit and I idled for stuff, but I don't play it that often at all. I'm just not much of a competitive player.
holy shit its 32 minutes long gfa9trfgaj woo.

so glad I'm not the only one who does this
I must have GG while I eat my food, it's imperative

I watch GameGrumps, TBFP, or Ashens. It's like you're watching TV but without the TV. And you don't have to leave your computer!
holy shit 32 minutes, i'll have to watch it tomorrow
I was pissed that it was another DK instead of sonic, until I was 5 minutes in and I released it was 32 minutes long.
God dang.
whipper snappers
thanks jon
I hope they didn't stop with the REmake. :(

The one time they shouldn't have rolled.
wow this is awkward.. i found arin's moms facebook. well okay then.
If you have a 3ds, get Ocarina of time on that. It's the best option for it.
OKAY NO
look at this

now compare that to this
(18:15)

Everything's so goddamned bright and colorful, which completely ruins the effect. Seriously, just compare the lighting when Ganondorf holds up his hand before he transforms. Compare the effects. In the original it's like "HOLY FUCKING SHIT", in the new one it's like "eh, final boss".
That dark shit is intentional. Look at this.

See how dark that shit is? There's color, yeah, but it's contrasted by a lot of desaturated dark shadow colors. That's how the game was intended to look, that's why it still looks so fucking cool.
i mean do i even have to go into why it's important you don't see ganondorf's face when he transforms on a design or narrative level because that's like story 101
the art design in both MM and OOT is fucking genius. I don't care how high res the new one is, it fucks up the most important scenes and that is a sin that can never be forgiven
oh wow I really liked the boss battle music
text and images and videos
uh i dunno i think the 3DS one looks pretty fucking rad, sure its brighter but their use of colors during the transformed Ganon scene conveys a really "drained and hopeless" feeling to me, as opposed to the originals "dark and scary"
They both speak magnitudes, in different regards.

but the game isn't designed like that
what's happening is that ganondorf is being raised from the dead and turned into the king of evil
in the remake it looks like he's just slightly winded and he just decided to unleash his second form or some shit
making it bright and colorful ruins the effect of the story
and it's not just that, don't even fucking talk to me about how they made Dead Hand's boss room fucking fullbright

i edited it just for you
Why are you spacing your posts like that?
Because it's easier to separate every thought into single sentences than it is to format it into paragraphs.
OKAY NO

While I agree that the darker one looks cooler, it does kind of make sense that there aren't many shadows considering they are surrounded by a big-ass ring of fire.
arin was looking for Gharial
-old and new graphics-
Yikes. It's only now that I read something like that from an outside perspective that I realize what I sound like when I talk about the La-Mulana remake.
Next time you choose to just jibber, you might wanna think about how long you jabber
words of wisdom from the gom grampes
While I agree that the darker one looks cooler, it does kind of make sense that there aren't many shadows considering they are surrounded by a big-ass ring of fire.
to be fair if the light was coming from the fire everything would be red, not blue
but that's not my point
I'm not saying that the darker version is better because it looks better(even though it does), or because it better reflects the concept art(which it does).I'm saying it's better because it adds to the story.
See the point of any art asset, be it writing or modeling or cinematography or whatever, is to reinforce an idea. Good art design is all of those assets working in concert to enforce the same idea. Classic example would be Darth Vader. He looks evil and powerful, he sounds evil and powerful, he acts evil and powerful, and so as an audience you get the idea that he's evil and powerful. So when he shows up and attacks the protagonists you go "oh fuck" because you know that he's evil and powerful. Simple stuff.
Same thing with this. In the scene, Ganondorf is supposed to be ressurected by the power of the tridingus. We establish that he's become absorbed by the power of the dingus by removing his face, making him pant like his lung is hanging out of his abdomen, and putting his glowing eyes next to the glowing tridingus, signifying that one has overcome the other. Then he gets zapped by the glowy lightning(the same lightning effect that is applied to link when he's hit by Ganondorf's energy blasts) and black out everything except for him.
Just that sequence has so many little bits and pieces that contribute to the overall feeling of emerging destructive power. You could say it's literally genius atmosphere.
So in the remake, when Ganondorf looks the same as when you fight him in the tower, and when his transformation is this really blatant model swap, and when everything remains that same sort of blue hue regardless of what's happening, you lose all that information. This isn't even going into the actual fight where they take even more stuff away.
I can see how I might look really, really nit picky for saying this is unforgivable, but just imagine if this was done to something other than Zelda. You know how people reacted to George Lucas making Darth Vader yell "Nooo!" at the end of Return of the Jedi when he throws the Emperor off of the railing? That's my reaction to this.

Why? They both remove the emotional gravitas of the character by adding in unnecessary stuff.
I apologize for how poorly formed my first post was, by the way.

for the 3ds the graphical change might have been necessary to let some of that stuff pop out better.
im not entirely sure how that works but it makes sense to make characters pop out better and be brighter, change lighting, etc.
It was probably done because no one likes low lighting on handhelds.
