i dont like sonic dude
What did I do? =(
BUT IT WASN'T AN ACCOMPLISHMENT look, megaman is challenging dark souls is challenging the knuckles and rouge levels aren't challenging Sometimes the game will go, "Yeah, I'll just put the emeralds in the open" and sometimes it'll go "Yeah, I'll put this one in a dog's anus, this one in Lincoln's nose, and this one out in the open so the player will be tricked into thinking they can win". It's just fucking random. I once spent forty fucking minutes, forty fucking minutes, on pumpkin fucking hill. That shitty rap song is etched into my lower frontal lobe.
all the emerald search levels were terrible and hard.
the original sonic games aren't very fun at all
I know it's all opinions and all, but what makes sonic 3 & Knuckles not fun? It's a really good platformer
personal opinion, sonic simply isn't for me. i don't like the restricted view combined with the fast speed [editline]4th December 2012[/editline] in the modern games where you can get a proper understanding of your surroundings, it's much more fun.
I just want there to be a modding scene for SA2 now that it's on Steam. All I have ever wanted from Sonic is more SA2 Sonic/Shadow stages.
This is like...the same kind of terrible that Superman 64 is. I'm surprised that it hasn't gotten more attention.
I dunno, this is infamously terrible. It's probably going to get more so as time passes.
one thing i don't like about sonic is how it's all just cut into small levels that feel like minigames. it never feels like an actual game, just a series of short bonus levels, but that's the whole game. it's never translated well to a proper game with an overarching plot or something, sonic 06 being a good example i just can't relate to it, sonic's barely a character, just your player model. this applies to other games that i like but I guess sonic is just a bigger culprit of it. it never feels like you're accomplishing stuff, the whole level feels like a rube goldberg set up specifically for sonic, you're not traversing unknown terrain.
I have to say, the more recent Sonic games that, while certainly help give more of a "gotta go fast" feeling, end up feeling like I'm just being guided through setpiece and setpiece without much control of what I can do until I reach the end. The older sonic games tend not to be as guilty as this as the latest ones are, hell, Sonic Heroes and Shadow the Hedgehog end up really averting this issue, though all the big problems both games suffer still diminish the games as a whole. Meanwhile, Sonic 06 is a clunky piece of shit where the levels feel incomplete and rushed.

its no use

Sonic is an extremely shallow character, and is not funny enough to make up for it.
all the emerald search levels were terrible and hard.
After I got the digging powerup the Knuckles and Rouge levels weren't so bad because of the abundance of powerups. Also, fun fact! The only times the Speed Up power up appears is on one Eggman level and All Rouge and Knuckles levels (via digging). Sonic and Shadow never use it in actual gameplay.
Yeah, I just played the game and found one in city escape.
just because thats your experience doesnt mean its a fact then does it?
fuck pumpkin hill i remember that from when i was a kid terrible level
It's probably the best Knuckles level.. and I quite frankly enjoyed the Knuckles sequences. They were a nice change of pace for me.
I have actually got the speed up power up when I played as Sonic. I got it when I reached a checkpoint
If you have a certain number of rings when you pass through a checkpoint, you get a powerup of varying power based on the rings. So it's feasible you got one with so-and-so rings.
I know for a fact there's one in city escape and maybe white jungle.
