If I wake up and I'm not going anywhere, and my room is in a moderate temperature I do not wear socks. If I wake up and I'm going somewhere I wear socks. I know there're more thing you need for catching one, but better safe than sorry. Also, having cold feet feels uncomfortable.

However, when getting the mail/taking out the garbage/doing other small outside jobs, I prefer to be barefoot, even in winter. I want to toughen my soles.
