Im not freaking out about this
I just hope it was a one time deal

Man fuck those guys.
someone send them metroid prime
this thread is going places. Im still waiting for another new GG episode for today
I think I've said this before: the Grumps can't play realistic modern-esque games. Their sense of humor just lends itself so much better to cartoony games.
All in all, it still felt like Game Grumps to me. I love seeing how awkward they are in some situations...
That dead space video is bad on pretty much every way possible
they paid them to do it
they make it painfully obvious
the game is terrible and not a funny sonic 06 kinda terrible
it was too long
It doesn't change my opinion on the game grumps because if EA offered me a couple wads of cash for talking about their game for half an hour I'd take it instantly, but it'll be forever remembered as "the worst gamegrumps episode so far"

It'd be great if they played the R&C series.
As long as they don't go BUY DEAD SPACE 3 AT GAMESTOP AND GET THE FREE SPEHSS MAREEN SKIN FOR PREORDERING LIMITED EDITION 70 DOLLAR EDITION ULTRA GIGA MODE at the end unironically and stay unbiased (the part at the beginning where he was like "look at these 1990 graphics") then I don't give a fuck.
Also fucking egoraptor when he was like essentially "if you have to use the GPS system because you got lost it's a failsafe and means the game design is bad."
Does ego WANT everything to be final hallway 13 with only two buttons to attack and incredibly simple gameplay overall?
I mean for fucks sake. We don't play games to have our hands held on a little adventure through the hallways, we play them because it's fun to figure shit out.
"You ever play half life 2"
"That games a straight line"
Thank you jontron. Holy fuck thank you.
to be honest i think it was funny that they made it so obvious that they were getting paid to do it
it wasn't that bad at all because they were constantly poking fun at both themselves and the game
everyone chill out, as long as this doesn't become a constant thing, its fine lmao

except in many parts hl2 wasn't really a straight line at all
you just constantly understood where you needed to go
if you played it as if it were a straight line you missed out on a lot of the content that was in the game lol
if you played it as if it were a straight line you missed out on a lot of the content that was in the game lol
it's more like a branch with really small twigs that are the exploring parts
otherwise it's pretty straight
and that doesn't make the game bad or anything, of course
if you played it as if it were a straight line you missed out on a lot of the content that was in the game lol
Guess I fucked up hard when I played it then.
There's nothing wrong with linear games as long as they're good.

this exactly
even if you take the most efficient path you'll never miss out on any of the important things, only stuff I can think of being sort of explorable were some bits in Episode 2 and the final battle in that
except in many parts hl2 wasn't really a straight line at all

Yes it isn't literally a straight line. But it was painfully linear with a few physics puzzles on the way.
That doesn't make it necessarily bad unless it goes to extremes like final fantasy 13 where it is literally a hallway.
But by equating GPS systems or waypoint systems in games to bad level design is pretty much saying every free roam game is badly designed because I have to use the GPS system to know where to go.
And waypoints to tell you where to go are pretty much every game.

Highway 17 and Sand Traps were very open, especially for 2004.

We've stopped talking about that now.
They be talking shit about Half-Life 2
Highway 17 and Sand Traps were very open, especially for 2004.
You mean the part where you drove along a single road that had a cliff on one side and the ocean on the other?

It doesn't need to be an open world game to be open.
Highway 17 and Sand Traps were very open, especially for 2004.
Highway 17 was literally a road what are you even talking about right now
I know you guys like valve games but face reality, jeez

Fine then jeez just Sand Traps.
Barry's animal editing was supreme.
"IT'S A RAINBOW CRESTED CARDULON!"
I don't know, I liked it. Forced or not, I thought it was funny.
Arin sounded very uncomfortable throughout the whole thing, like he wanted to straight up bash some parts of it, well, moreso then usual.
Fine then jeez just Sand Traps.
You mean the other mission where you drive along a road and open up some gates so you can keep driving down a road to unlock more gates?

Saying HL2 isn't linear is like saying battlefield campaigns aren't linear. Just because it presents itself as "open world/large map" doesn't mean that it either accomplishes absofuckinglutely nothing to deviate in the slight breathing room it gives or as soon as you try to deviate it goes RETURN TO THE COMBAT AREA and will suicide you if you don't go back to where you are supposed to be.
Like I said, it isn't a bad thing necessarily.
Arin freaking out because of the drill was probably my favorite part.
