Banjo Kazooie is very slow for the first level or two. It picks up from there immensely.
I seem to share Jontron's taste of games... I love Banjo, Kirby, and Donkey Kong Country. Those 3 are definitely on my top 10.
If they do Zombies Ate My Neighbours I will love them forever and ever and ever
decided to replay Mega Man 7 because of their playthrough
shit's fun, yo
I hate to bring it up, but am I the only one that thinks Banjo Kazooie looks a bit unappealing? I haven't actually played it but it looks like a watered down Mario 64 to me. It seems like most people just see it through rose-tinted nostalgia goggles since they played it when they were kids.
I just bought it for the n64, never played it in my life. It's fucking amazing.
it's more like a more refined mario 64
literally. it is. they took the concept and added on to it.
controls and such definitely have a SM64 feel but that's a pretty generic feel for N64 games like this.
Is anybody else reading the debates/discussions going on in the recent Banjo-Kazooie? It's interesting to see them discussing on how Ego was complaining about not knowing to use the egg technique because of a sudden text popup.
I think he's just trying to find things to criticise about this one, it juxtaposes him with John who absolutely loves it but the text popup wasn't really a valid criticism in my mind
seems more like ego was being dumb
just learned egg move, doesn't immediately use egg move on the gorilla. even after the gorilla says "bear can't reach me".
when ego looks for shit to criticize he becomes IMMEDIATELY braindead in every regard to the game. watching him play ocarina of time was fucking maddening, i yelled at him in chat to just give me the fucking controller because god damn
Ego doesn't really feel that into banjo kazooie (or thats the vibe I am getting from the videos). Its like when you play a game and you are just very "eh" about it but you can't really pinpoint what is making you feel that way.
Its sort of killing the videos I think. It doesn't make them utter shit but it doesn't help...
i can understand exactly what ego means, he wasn't paying attention to the dialogue so when he was confronted with the gorilla, he felt like he missed something vital in the text.

The Kirby playthrough is definitely my favorite.
JESUS FUCK
welp now that we're on the topic of virgin Mary

more like a refined donkey kong 64 which was supposed to be a refined mario 64
the problem I have is that they don't read the game
when bottles is saying the same thing for a minute because they don't notice that they need to press a button to continue
it's also why ego felt confused with the monkey most likely

Also note when in Kirby they're just shittin' around whilst the timer goes down. They barely made it out of that one level, with 0050 on the counter left or something like that. Sometimes I focus more on blunders like that saying: "Holy crap, MOVE!" as opposed to focusing on what they're talking about.
If an episode doesn't make me want to yell at them, I find it dandy. Banjo Kazooie/Tooie are my 2 favorite games of all time, but this run is off to a shaky start with how much important dialogue they're missing. Especially when they could instead be making funny voices and joking around at the dialogue itself, which in return makes them pay attention to it. But instead Jon is trying to make Ego see the light and wonders of this fabulous game, distracting Ego from focusing on enjoying it for himself.
Yeah it's more of a podcast with the Banjo and Kazooie videos
Damn, I was going to recommend Animal Crossing several weeks ago, it's too bad I thought it was too slow paced to do a gamegrumps video about.

I hope they really do it. I love that fucking game.

Agreed. When Jon cut Ego off from doing the Gruntilda voice, I was desperately waiting for him to start again, but no, Jon's too busy telling him how great the game is.
Yeah it's hard to enjoy something when [maybe] your main focus . But this video series was just made personal, because from what other people are saying, Jon just hyped the game up (even while Ego was playing the game), and Arin was caught off-guard by this and so it just turned out "eh".
I don't think it means he downright hates the game, though.
People are blaming him because they think he's playing the game and over that one comment, thinks he absolutely despises it or something. When really it seems like he doesn't because it was just that one simple distraction, especially while Jon and him were in the middle of a conversation (if I remember that right).
Really it's all about the context which not a lot of people gotten. And it's a lot harder for most people to think of another's perspective.

I didn't play it until around 2009 and it's one of my favourite 3D platformers ever, so no it's not because of nostalgia goggles.
Animal Crossing seems like it would be really boring to watch someone play... all for Air Ride though.
I don't understand why there's so many people suggesting they play such dull games to WATCH. Like Animal crossing and any RPG out there, don't get me wrong, I love those games, but not even the grumps could make it interesting to watch.

It's because the dialogue is so fucking long and a chore to read.

It takes a fucking hour to get to the point.
They should do Kirby: Air Ride. I used to play that game all the time, so much fun.

All the stuff in City Trial pretty much made the game for me.
We should all come together to send many e-mails asking them to make a timesplitters vid series.
Want diabetes? Grab a snickers!
I died.
I couldn't find an e-mail but I found their twitter
Just say to them "Hey @GameGrumps could you make a timesplitters vid series? Love, Facepunch.com members"
