GameGrumps - A new youtube channel from JonTron and Egoraptor - General

I might be a bit late to the discussion, having slept through the shitstorm, but on the soulless NSMB thing, look at the 3DS. They wanted and needed something safe to start out with 3d land. It was pretty much a launch title that came out later than it should, and I think that if they're going to give us our Galaxy equivalent when things have stabilized a bit more.

What I'm trying to say is, they needed a casual Mario game that the casual audience could pick up and not be threatened by, and the should get better from here. Unless they decide to keep the NSMB art direction, in which case fuck them.

I've expressed this a couple of times before, but seriously New Super Mario World, or Super Mario World 3. I'm tired of SMB3 being used as the archetype for everything with stuff from other games put in, let's have another large overworld full of alternate routes, secret paths, hidden warp levels and routes, and the motherfucking cape. I'm tired of seeing direct warps, toad houses, and the tanuki suit.

To me SSB was never designed to be played like that, you can still be in serious mode with items on and in an interesting stage can't you?

A bobomb, hammer, or a good pokeball can change the match without skill so most competitive players turn them off.

Oh god when they did fox only final destination and as soon as it started they both spammed lasers at the exact same time I almost died.

And this is why I can't take it seriously as a "competitive" game, it's not meant for that. It's so simple and easy compared to other 2d fighters that I almost can't even consider it a fighting game. I still love me some SSB though, it just ticks me off when people try to be so competitive with it.

That's kinda why they turn off items in competitive. [editline]eeehhhhhh[/editline] Ah, I misunderstood. Some people like competitive play over regular play. Different tastes.

Speaking of fighting games I would love to see Jon and Ego fumble around in some marvel vs capcom 2/3 or some street fighter 3 third strike. That would be awesome. I bet Egoraptor respects the fuck out of the animation quality in third strike.
