Her character gets fucking destroyed in it, and the lore is just shit on left and right, I guess team ninja had more of a hand in it, but you should look up 'Metroid Other M cutscenes/movie mode', or something of the like.
I recommend the Super Best Friends Watch viewing of it. They've all liked Metroid since the beginning, and they point out pretty clearly what's wrong with Other M.

The series being raped was Sakamoto's fault, thanks to his glorious vision for how it should work. If he didn't approve of it and it didn't go perfectly according to him, it wasn't allowed to be in. He also fucked over the gameplay, and it was only barely salvaged by Team Ninja, hence why there are a bunch of shitty controls and game mechanics.
*suddenly other m gets mentioned ego cuts in* "I liked it" I- oh god.
Other M was a good game as long as you ignored the absolutely atrocious story in it. The biggest problem with Other M, for those that didn't play it, was that Samus was often portrayed as someone to be rescued. The worst scene is where she absolutely loses her shit and starts crying when she sees Ridley despite this canonically being the tenth-or-so time fighting him which causes her power suit to disappear for some reason. There's also the pants-on-head retarded story reason for not having your equipment, which is that it hasn't been "authorized for use" by the military dude that's giving you orders. You have all of your equipment from the start and there's no given reason for her to not be using it other than "Adam didn't tell her she could yet." This gets especially bad when she's in an area filled with lava and you almost die before Adam authorizes the anti-lava feature that you had the entire time but weren't allowed to use. tl;dr it took samus from being a badass independent bounty hunter to a fawning damsel in distress that was constantly seeking the approval of some jackass military guy that doesn't give a shit about her
There's also the Retsupurae playthrough (Slowbeef in particular hates the game) and this page which is probably the best source you could use in an argument why Other M is an absolutely abysmal game and should be cast into the fires of the sun. Oh, and I've never personally understood why people say "good gameplay, bad story" because it doesn't even have good gameplay. The only part I liked were the core combat mechanics, but that was all dragged down with the stupid first-person switching, the Pixel hunts, those weird slow ass pseudo-cutscene bits, and worst of all, how linear it all was. The game is essentially, Corridor: The Game, and it all boils down to a simple, repeated structure: corridor, room with enemies, corridor, room with enemies, save room, corridor, cutscene, pixel hunt, boss, cutscene and then repeat. For a series that has always emphasised exploration, there sure seems to be a whole lot of that going on here.
Oh god the high heels. Even in her god damn Zero suit.

Their favourite one is Fusion, the most linear. Sakamoto appears to have gone in trying to make it a Japanese game, when it's a western game at heart. Also he tried to make Prime non-canon because it was made by Retro a western developer he was only barely stopped how about that? AND OH GOD THE HIGH HEELS ALDFSALSNFDSNEFIN;OL

ego says he likes other m bring on the crucifixion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally, Jon is playing Banjo now. Either they upload very slowly or play very slowly, I'm already up to finishing Gobi's Valley with just playing ~4 hours or so right now.
Honestly, yeah, what I saw of Other M's gameplay looked pretty neat, I was just surprised ego liked it despite the incredibly convoluted story. Hopefully the discussion stops/doesn't spiral any further downwards now that everything's clarified for everyone. :v:
Finally, Jon is playing Banjo now.

How do people still not know how to increase the bitrate of the audio in their exported flash videos?
I like it when Jon plays Banjo, he's too busy playing to gush.
How do people still not know how to increase the bitrate of the audio in their exported flash videos?
The bitrate is fine. The sampling frequency is part of the issue.
Oh god the high heels. Even in her god damn Zero suit.
Every single female character in that game had high heels, all of them.

I know how stupid it is to have missiles work when you are in first person and locked on, but changing to first person wasn't that bad for me. They slow down the game enough for you to know whats going on and let you dodge quickly if needed. After I got used to it I was able to shoot a missile and get back into normal view quickly. The dodging was nice but it was way too easy to abuse but the finishers were satisfying to do. And the auto targeting worked really well, I didn't have a time that it worked against me. Even though the game has many flaws that I can't look past, combat had a good feel to it. If anything it showed the more acrobatic side of Samus and the way she fights. As for Samus, well the prime games manage to give her more character and emotion in no words than Other M did through the entire story.
I'm losing interest in the Pokemon videos. I haven't had any urge to watch the last two. The pace is so slow in Pokemon when you can only watch 10 minutes of gameplay at a time. NSMB Wii is also already getting stale. It's just a dry game to watch, I didn't even care for it either when I played it. They're right: It's just cookie cutter gameplay.

For videos like their Pokemon and NSMB videos I mostly just listen to them talk while playing a game because for some reason listening to their conversations is just as entertaining as wacky shit they would do when they play games.

Goof Troop was a different story, but a Pokemon game or a full-fledged Nintendo 64 Rare game? Those can easily take ages to beat when you're not 100% on-board if you know what I mean.
Does anyone know which episode they were talking about how they tried playing Conker's but Ego ended up quitting 30 minutes in?
