Lol at the longform thing. Like, I know exactly what John means, and I agree, but he didn't explain himself well. It is a different kind of classification to interesting and fun, but it definitely gives either interesting or fun or games that are both, a boost to make them even better than if they were just interesting or just fun or both. It's a third thing that makes something already good better, but isn't good on it's own. Like, it's a thing that can turn a game from good to great. But ego's right, it's different and not a standalone thing like fun or interesting.

Yeah, and I don't think Ego argues with that. But it just loses it's place in the argument.
There are many things that can flip a game from good to great but can't stand on their own.
Imo john has great arguments but he's a pretty terrible debater

Jon has terrible problems speaking his mind.
Like, uhm... You know... Uh... Shit... Like you know it's like when you... Like... hold on hold on... I guess what I mean, like what I'm really trying to say is... Uh... You know like...
That's him 85% of the times he tries to explain himself.
He clearly has some good arguments and has proven himself to be more knowledgeable than his character gives the impression of, but he tends to let fanboyism (he usually brings up OOT as example for way too much) ruin a lot of it, as well as just being bad at making arguments because his brain just stops.
Game Grumps isn't the best platform for debating game design. Especially since they are so involved with joking. That's probably why Jon and Ego can't come up with a proper point on it, they are trying to play and or have a fun experience that people can follow at the same time trying to gather their thoughts.

I feel for the dude though because half of the time that's what happens to me irl. Too much stuff trying to squeeze out of a tiny brain-door and it just shuts down.
Although I think to my own credit I've learned to stop for a sec, formulate something to articulate, then continue. Which I'm pretty sure John would normally do but there's a lot of pressure and a sense of urgency since it's being recorded
When I first played it I used to speedrun super metroid.
I expected it to be as addicting as super metroid, but instead it just really frustrated me.
Personal opinions I guess, but IMO its still not a GREAT game, it's decent and fun, but even for a huge nintendo/metroid fanboy I just did not like it.
Yeah, so you probably expected the game to play quite differently to what it actually did. It can be a really slow game at times, because it wants you to take your time and scan the whole area and find new ways.
That may be the problem for you. No big deal really.

Yeah it's not exactly uncommon, but it makes for awkward moments, and you kind of get annoyed when he uses 1/10th of an episode to try and explain himself with most of it being sounds.
There you go.
Anyone who still has questions or wonder about the legibility of GameGrumps recording ways. They record a big chunk of gameplay in one sitting and split it up and release it over several days.
Refering to how they talk about their PO box and how they were going to play Animal Crossing (which they've already released 3 episodes of).
Businessgrumps.
Another avgn reference

Gamegrumps is already one of the biggest game-media related things to happen in maybe the past year. I think AVGN might come on, though I don't follow AVGN at all.
I wish they played something that wasn't on a Nintendo system. Break out the PS1
[sp]I only had a PS1 as a kid so :([/sp]
I had a sega saturn (that old console they were talking about some long time ago) when everyone else had those nintendo consoles.
It was a good console and all, had awesome games but you have no idea how excluded you feel when nobody ever knows what the shit a sega saturn is.
"oh man do you remember those awesome old games on the nintendo?"
"umm no i didn't have a nintendo i had a sega saturn"
"a what?"
"forget it"

gaming was way better on consoles in the 32-64 bit era
only recently (2000 and something) is that PC gaming has picked up and gotten better

I had nothing for a long time
I'm an hour late, but I grew up with the PS2. Good times.
grew up playing my uncles super nintendo, which he eventually gave to me when i was like 7 or 8
i still have all my games, secret of mana, star fox, megaman x 1 and 2, super mario rpg, super mario allstars, super mario world, yoshi's island, etc
basically all of the best fucking snes games ever
I was a Nintendo OG until the PS2, SNES and N64 owned, and I was lucky enough to have friends within walking distance to play perfect dark and countless other classics with, no childhood regrets.
oh man, last banjo episode was quite hilarious
I want to send them an envelope with nothing in it but a USB stick that has a passworded zip file and have a whole ARG about it. I don't think it's worth the effort, though.

They should play Super Bomberman 2. That game is bitching for quick battles.

They figure out the password and it's full of Rule 34 of them.

Who's to say they'd even play along with it?

If I was them I would probably just throw it away. If I played games and made animations as a career then I wouldn't have time to play along with it.
I am really tempted to send them a physical letter though.
I was a ps1/n64 and ps2 kid. I was pretty lucky, it's too bad I was too young to understand MGS as a good game though and I gave up quickly on it due to it's difficulty. My favorites of n64/ps1 were Tony Hawks Pro Skater, Mario 64, NBA Hangtime, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Brave Fencer Musashi, Turok, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, Resident Evil (Watched my dad play it), Die Hard Trilogy, WWF Smackdown 2, Toomba, Final Doom and a shitload more.
My childhood is filled to the fucking brim with videogames, but because of that I don't really feel nostalgia for a certain one game, so the memories aren't as special or memorable to me.
I looked up Pizza Time.
Why.
