Oh and for the people saying that suicide is a right that people should have, you are correct. The problem resides in the fact that nobody wants to clean up the dead body of the moron who threw himself off a building and landed in the middle of a children's playground.
This is why doctor assisted suicide needs to be legal. That would take care of the problem of a mess quite well, actually.
The club of nations that kill people is a pretty shitty club.
Then make the murderers clean it up.
True, but you can't clean up the minds of the 50 children who have blood and brain matter on their face because it splashed on them when the moron hit the ground.
This is why doctor assisted suicide needs to be legal. That would take care of the problem of a mess quite well, actually.
No, just no.
A Life For A life.
And that way we'll all be dead. I've done a few small studies of this in a class. If you want to talk about money to kill someone versus money to keep them alive, consider that from what I've read, generally the criminal will keep trying to defend himself, keep making appeals, etc, meaning in general the total money spent on lawyers and court days and everything by the government to kill this guy equals more than it would spend to keep him in jail for life.
No, just no.
Great argument, I'm convinced.
This thread makes me so glad Facepunch does not have any judicial or political power whatsoever edit: vvvv http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prison-industrial_complex
Great argument, I'm convinced.
The last thing we need is killing people being turned into a business.
Makes me think of the movie Law Abiding Citizen. If your wife and children got murdered and raped in front of your eyes, the only thing you will want to do the rest of your depressing life is pure revenge. But the only thing the murderer gets is 30 years, why? "No Evidence"
The last thing we need is killing people being turned into a business.
Yes, because doctors would go on murderous rampages, killing hundreds of elderly people just for the fun of it. Doctors would stop saving lives just so they can kill people already dying of cancer. That is ridiculous.
Yeah make the guy who killed himself clean it up... Oh wait Or do you mean make other criminals clean it up? Which is actually an idea I strongly support.
Or you can have like, robots clean it up.
Yeah make the guy who killed himself clean it up... Oh wait Or do you mean make other criminals clean it up?
True, but you can't clean up the minds of the 50 children who have blood and brain matter on their face because it splashed on them when the moron hit the ground.
Psychiatrists will still have work to do then.
Why punish them. Why prevent them, they are just insane, stupid and coward
Well you were saying that no-one had the right to take a life, I took that to mean you'd prevent others from killing themselves? If not then it's ok. Although I would disagree, you needn't be insane, stupid nor a coward to kill yourself, but if you think so strongly as that there isn't much point me trying to convince you otherwise afterall I gain nothing from it.
Oh and for the people saying that suicide is a right that people should have, you are correct. The problem resides in the fact that nobody wants to clean up the dead body of the moron who threw himself off a building and landed in the middle of a children's playground.
Dead people don't tend to care if they're breaking the law. People will kill themselves if they want to, I didn't really mean to drag suicide into this just mentioned it, unless someone else did too.
All the guys saying 'An eye for an eye' what would you say in this situation- Abused woman who has been in the relationship for several years suddenly snaps and kills her abuser. Does she really deserve to die?
To sum up why i don't like the death penalty, "Killing is wrong, lets kill people to prove our point! oh wait, that was innocent? oh well, I'm sure his friends and family won't mind."
Although I would disagree, you needn't be insane, stupid nor a coward to kill yourself, but if you think so strongly as that there isn't much point me trying to convince you otherwise afterall I gain nothing from it.
If this is actually what he [or anyone, frankly] thinks, then he doesn't know anything about suffering, thus making any argument he makes that is even remotely related to death completely null.
And it costs even more to keep them in prison.
no it doesn't
All the guys saying 'An eye for an eye' what would you say in this situation- Abused woman who has been in the relationship for several years suddenly snaps and kills her abuser. Second one more difficult to determine.
I don't think it should go. It is needed
All the guys saying 'An eye for an eye' what would you say in this situation- Abused woman who has been in the relationship for several years suddenly snaps and kills her abuser. Does she really deserve to die?
If she was living in fear constantly, to the point that she did snap, she should not be tried on account of self-defense. Not to mention, in cases like this, the abused almost always shows great remorse and accountability for her actions, which is extremely uncommon for intentional murders, as far as I know.
I think if you're willing to kill someone else, you better be ready to give up your own life just as quick.
I think if you're willing to kill someone else, you better be ready to give up your own life just as quick.
Agree. The death penalty would be applied to attempted murder also if it was up to me. More harsh penalty's for every criminal law = less crimes committed.
Agree. The death penalty would be applied to attempted murder also if it was up to me. More harsh penalty's for every criminal law = less crimes committed.
What? Are you serious? That's just... wow. FP is so full of bloodthirsty twats it isn't even funny.
"The death penalty is bullshit!" Besides, most of the world works fine without it.
What? Are you serious? That's just... wow. FP is so full of bloodthirsty twats it isn't even funny.
FP is more filled of kids who believe we live in a world of rainbows and flowers.
FP is more filled of humanitarian kids who believe we live in a world of rainbows and flowers.
A life sentence is fine and dandy, a REAL life sentence, not that 25 year crap. The death penalty is just sickening, as I already said and no, it doesn't cost more to keep them in jail for life thant it does to execute them, even though using that excuse to justify executing people is ridiculous. And I stand by my words, your statement is just bloodthirsty over the top bullshit.
Agree. The death penalty would be applied to attempted murder also if it was up to me. More harsh penalty's for every criminal law = less crimes committed.
except in the real world, the death penalty doesn't actually reduce the number of murders
They should kill off all the murderers, would spare a lot of money. Rather one bullet than supporting their whole life in prison.
