Well, let's just say rushing around like a blue arsed fly because you're doing 2 peoples jobs all the time leads to silly accidents, also, tiny head wounds bleed like crazy.

I have loads of cuts on my hand when I wasn't rushing at work. :saddowns:
I'm going to have tons of scars on my hands by the time I get a new job. :v:
A guy I work with is called Kingsley and despite how much one of my friends insists he is (without ever seeing him) HE IS NOT BLACK GOD DAMNIT
Yesterday, a customer came into the store, claiming that She had been over charged. She presented a reciept which had 10 flexi mats ($3.50 ea) on it but she claimed she had bought 10 pieces of wrapping paper ($0.50) instead of the mats. The stupid part was is that the recipt was dated a month a go.
She started demanding a refund. As she failed to present the goods she actually bought except for the reciept, My boss had to tell her to come back Wednesday when the area manager would be down as He is the only one who can authorise a refund like that. She started complaining and eventualy left.
If She knew she had been over charged by $30, you would think she would have noticed.
My Boss (who handled the situation) noted that the register operator who apparently servered her was one of our best who rarely mucks up. And was also very sus of how the customer never attempted to contact the store prior to this in terms of a cortousy call or such to tell us that she had been over charged.
What's the best way to find vacancies for casual jobs? I'd love to work at a clothing store or similar, but considering its almost christmas most jobs are probably filled, although it would be preferable to a supermarket or fast food chain. And most stores dont put a "hiring" sign outside even if they are hiring.
When I was kid, I went to a prestigious gradeschool. It was one of the best in my home country. This involves a retail super mall giant's kid so it fits into the thread.
Needless to say, the rich folk of the country went to that school. I had the pleasure of being a classmate of the kids of these rich folk. Kids like owners of all the super malls in downtown of the capital. Kids of the owners of the most successful truck company etc.
One day, this kid, the kid of the super mall giants gets on my nerves. He starts shoving me and bugging me, calling me "poor kid." Starts pointing and laughing. Decided to shrug it off, that bully. He was way taller and bigger than I was. Days later he does the same thing. I've had enough. I karate-chopped him SO HARD into his ear. He fell to the ground and I started kicking the shit out of him. He cried like a baby and told the teacher. His rich parents, being owners of mall chains, bribed the teacher to try and get me expelled. Didn't work and he left me alone for the whole school year.
This other rich kid, bugged me to death too. He was the offspring of a giant restaurant chain. He stole some of my stuff out of my backpack and wouldn't stop making fun of me, showing off the shit he stole in front of my face. He shoves me too. I had a flashback and just roundhoused him in the shin. He fell flat on his face and suffered a black eye.
His parents were furious and wanted to do legal action. My family said "fuck you" cause we were leaving the shithole of a country and moving to the great UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Try calling the store and talking to the store manager, they'll tell you everything. Though I prefer to go over there myself wearing a tie and applying. Worked so far. By the way, never work a clothing store, it sucks. Go restaurant or some other job where you can at least dress nicely
Are you sure USA is so great? All countries are cesspools in their own way.

Yes. If you have never lived in a poverty-stricken third world country, you'll never realize why Niko Bellic was so happy in GTA4. Despite all his troubles he was still happy he is in the USA
Never played gta4, but I know what you mean.

What's wrong with clothing stores? I'd prefer it to a supermarket or macdonalds or something, and at least id be serving people around my age which would be pretty good (i'm 18). Also i dont know about my chances at a restaurant, ive onl had one other job (at subway, worked there for only 4 months) so i dont exactly have a lot of work experience. Also how do i know if the stores im calling are hiring? And is it really a good idea to rock up to a store wearing a tie just to apply? Particularly if its somewhere that doesnt suit that clothing, if you know what i mean.
Just got a job at a frozen yogurt place called Blueberry Frog. I am excited.
My little addition:
There was an Indian couple that had come into Rite-Aid and tried to use around 40 photocopied coupons thinking that they would get away with it, even though it clearly states ONE-PER-CUSTOMER...on every photocopy. Needless to say, the husband went all up in arms about us rejecting him and told us to get the manager, who then proceeded to say the exact same thing that he was just fucking told. He apparently didn't like our "tone of voice" and that we were being disrespectful to him as a customer (by not allowing him to beat the system?). Needless to say, his wife grabbed a candle and smashed it on the way out the front door, and by the time someone got out to confront her, the car was long gone.
It was said before, and I'll say it again: Why the hell do some people think that they are the king/queen of _____ and they can get away with anything they want.
i like to steal from stores :downs:
i like to steal from stores :downs:
Are you trying to get dumb ratings or something?
i like to steal from stores :downs:
Some people think its okay to steal from store because they "aren't people" but when you steal from a store you actually are stealing from people. When a store has a high shrink (that meaning a high theft loss) they have to balance things, and the easiest and most straightforward way for a store to save money is to cut employee hours. So when you steal from a store, you are stealing hours away from its employees, meaning they get less pay.

well in h&s he posted a stupid comment in a thread where someone was obviously building a computer saying "are you building a computer?" so i think it's a gimmick account
It's not retail, but food service, but i have a "i hate this job" moment. (Actually i had a ton...but this is one).
Anyhow, i was working at Charley's Steakery in my local mall. I'm working on the flat-top grill cooking sandwiches when i see this guy angrily pumping his ketchup. I look up at him, making my first mistake. He notices and turns to me and yells "THIS IS BULLSHIT!" I then made my second mistake by not pretending to have missed what he said. So, i ask "What sir?" and he looks at me again and just shouts "THIS IS FUCKING BULLSHIT!". At this point i'm wondering if he got the wrong sandwich or something so i set the spatulas down and walk over to figure out what this fuck-tard is going on about.
He angrily stares me down as i walk to the end of the counter to ask what's the matter and he holds up his ketchup cup and just says "These ketchup cups are fucking bullshit".
Startled i ask him "What is bullshit about them?". He angrily grumbled about how they are "Too damn small". At this point i'm just sick of the guy and want him to fuck off, so i tell him that he can take as many as he wants. He then angrily says again "THEY'RE BULLSHIT!" so i say, "Well i'm not the guy who orders the bullshit cups, and i'm pretty sure that's regular size" and walk off to leave him with his ketchup. He angrily stormed off and i was fortunate enough to not have to deal with that asshole again.

I hate those sort of people. At my work, I have people come up to me and say 'This was on the $4 shelf' when it clearly has a $10 price ticket on it.
One stupid old Granny tried to take a clearance sticker from one item and placed it on another. She didnt even realised that she swaped a $15 clearance sticker on a item that was only worth $10. She was charged the $15 because the operator naturally adjusted the price that was on the clearance sticker. No one noticed it until the manger was checked the price adjustments the following day.

Been working at Macy's for a little while now and haven't really seen too many asshole customers. Just this one lady who didn't want to take my explanation as to why her coupon didn't work. At least the manager was next to me so he explained it to her and she left pissed off. It was kind of funny in a way. Pay is pretty decent too for the temp holiday positions. I'm making $9.10 an hour.

I always wondered, were most of the freakouts that his brother had were fake? I looked up his channel, wafflepwn, and it say says he is up to 19 videos of his brother throwing tantrums.
Sorry for going offtopic, but I always wondered this and Google never brought up any concise answers.

...I've been at Gamestop for 2 years and even after two promotions I'm making less than $9 an hour.
I clearly went for the wrong job.
After a year at my current job, I'm thinking about quitting or transferring to another store. Or maybe try stock instead of a cashier.
Not sure what to do though. I need the job but it's making me go insane.

welcome to working a job at our age
I honestly love my job. It's my first job and I'm starting off with $9 an hour and we get so many perks from the company also.
I had this couple, who were homosexual and it was very evident bought two hot pink shirts and I was ringing them up. This guy handed me $21 when the price was $16 and asked for $5 back so I said ok but I made a mistake and typed in $26 and handed him $10. He says to me "No no, I want $5 back, what school do you go to?" I gave him the biggest fuck you bitch I made a mistake look and he apologized right away. I handed him back the $5 and said Good bye and walked away.
Fuck, I wanted to apply for a Best Buy sales associate job but one of the qualifications is at least 6 months experience of retail sales and I have none

I guess I'm hopeful.
I want to try getting a job in stocking inventory, but so far I've been unsuccessful
