I work at a restaurant as a waiter and today a family came. They were arab tourists. So I come over to take their order and they ask if me if we have any muslim workers(because all muslims are arabs right?). Well I obviously say no because we don't have any and the man talks some gibberish in angry voice and they leave.
And I am the only one who speaks english from the entire staff so they at least could be grateful for that, but noo.
Well good luck finding a muslim person here. I've lived here for over 20 years and I have yet to see one working in a store or other services.

We pay illegal immigrants like $12,48 an hour. (this is because they aren't even allowed to be here)

Just try and treat them as normal. The only real problem situation comes with if they're being disruptive/close to breaking things as you want to alert their parents but also risk the "HES SPECIAL OK" hissy fit I find most carers/parents are fine though, and most of the people like this are quiet and keep to themselves.
We used to get a group of them come down to the shop where I worked as we have a local centre for them, they were always fine, occasionally bought the wrong thing and had to return it but it was always in the same condition & with a reciept.

What the fuck for a 16yo it's around £4.30($6.7~) in the uk it does go up with age but not by much.

My mom gets 2,3 USD per hour as cashier and she has been working there for five years.
I work at a greyhound track on the outskirts of London and my god the majority of the customers are either rude, rowdy or batshit retarded. And to be perfectly honest the staff here are even worse.
My job consists of operating turnstiles to let the dog owners in, collecting glasses throughout the night and being the lazy ass bar staff's bitch. Needless to say I don't leave until 23:30 every night and that occasionally makes it impossible to get home.(it does get quite busy and people just refuse to go home even though we close at 22:45)
The other night about 10pm I was bringing glasses to the bar and there was some douchebag man with his friends standing around the bar (this pisses me off because people like them make my job near impossible) they were fairly rowdy. Then the guy proceeds to unzip his flies and piss up the bar... I mean what the fuck. Every night there is always atleast 1 guy outside smoking a joint outside and a group doing cocaine in the toilets.
You also get the rude customers, the owners of the dogs have got away with murder for years now so I just have to put up with their bullshit otherwise they'll kick up a stink, their passes clearly state "allow owner only" but they expect to get in with them and 6 guests and when I refuse them, they just go through reception anyway. This one guy started swearing at me because I wouldnt give his 10 year old kids programmes even though its totally against policy and its illegal.
You also get the drunkards who seem to have a massive problem with all the staff. For example i was washing up the glasses and some guy asks for a pint of beer. I asked him if he was speaking to me (because I'm not trained to serve yet due to just turning 18) and he said no, so I apologised and then he said I don't know what your fucking problem is. you also have the customers who consistently ask for fosters or other alcohol which we don't sell throughout the night.
The bar staff here are probably the worst part about my job. they seem to have some superiority complex over the glass collectors, it could be really busy and we won't have the opportunity to wash up however there will be consistently 5 of the same people sitting out the back moaning at us for not doing their job. stealing stock is a problem here too like someone took 5 bags of crisps home for her family after sitting out the back and moaning at us all night. The same woman doesn't shut up either, all she does is make annoying noises and uses the excuse "a woman should have to do that" when told to get some ice. We've also had 2/3 people being sacked for stealing money here too. They don't know how to sack people for anythint else otherwise.
The good thing is I get £6.10 an hour for working here, on fridays where it is usually quiet I get paid for doing hardly anything half the night as the guys I work with work hard when we need to.
The economy at the moment is disgusting. a friend of mine has been looking for a job in retail for 2 years and got nothing. GCSEs and A-levels in most cases mean nothing. the best bet to be honest is an apprenticeship or a STEM degree. can't wait to go university so I can see the back of this place. my mum has worked here 20 years for some reason that is beyond me.
it is awesome when the bouncers at work beat the shit out of the very worst of the customers though.

Oh I have a good story. I'm the electronics specialist at Target.
One day I was working as usual and a lady came back to electronics and asked to check out all her stuff back there. I hate when people do that since our registers don't have conveyor belts. I said no, because she didn't have any electronics items. She quickly went over to a shelf and grabbed a pre-paid phone card. Fuck. Well anyways I'm like whatever and start ringing up her stuff. She has a cart full of weird stuff, not typical Target items. Things like little containers, womanly items, stuff you'd need to travel.
Also worth nothing she's a younger latino looking girl. She spoke decent English. As I'm ringing up her stuff she appeared noticeably nervous. She also had a suitcase in the cart, and told me "I don't need bags, just put it in the suitcase". So now I'm thinking this is definitely a strange situation.
I do as she said, give her the total (Like 50 bucks) and she swipes a card. The card is rejected by the register. I tell her that her card isn't being accepted, and she starts freaking out. She looks for other cards and can't find anything. I ask if she needed to talk to her bank or something but she just says "No, I'll be back soon" and leaves the cart and runs off.
Never saw her again, I assume she was running away from an abusive boyfriend or family and stole the credit card, but they had just deactivated it. Poor girl.
Or maybe she was a thief or a criminal. Or even worse a murderer.

what? i dont know any cashiers that make 10 dollars an hour. i barely make more than 8 dollars an hour and i work on a salesfloor. i think most americans would be ecstatic if they made 10 an hour. i know i would.

I remember i turned it on, and she said that I should look at the screen and see how the backlight wasn't working well or something. I clicked "play" or whatever you use to bring up stored photos, and the first one was a picture of a naked boy, I assume her son. He looked like he was like 14 or something. I immediately turned if off and told her I had no idea what was wrong with it.

I'm joking. Congratulations. And yeah once you've worked in retail long enough you'll realize if I say something I'll more than likely lose my job because Target doesn't want to deal with that. And I can't afford the legal expenses to fight against it. You learn to just let shit go.

And what really pisses me off is this: From 9-11, we had a grand total of two customers. One came in at 9:40, and the other came in at 10:58.
I don't know what the fuck is wrong with Gamestop corporate, and, while the guy coming in tonight was somewhat justified by coming in right after he got off work, I would like to say to ANYONE who shops that late at night...stop that shit. You're making the employees stay absurd hours for no good reason instead of being home with their families or their friends.

I got my current job in year 9 and am currently at first year uni now. The job has helped me to pay for uni expenses so I don't have to hex it.

Thats Gamestop. Best Buy has holiday hours til 11 on Fri and Sat too now and place stays packed to the walls the whole time.

There's a Target near where I live that's open 24 hours. And I've been in there at 2 and there was one other person there.
Also my work closes at midnight, it should really close at 10. No one comes in unless they're really dodgy looking or grabbing milk or bread for the next day.
