So, are we getting ww2/vietnam?
100% engorged.
Why Relic and not Ensemble? Nvrm Ensemble is dead. I can't be optimistic knowing Relics recent releases.
Seeing people compare it to things, I don't know why you're not talking about Rise of Nations. It's an RTS in the same style of Age of Empires, but it goes through the eras to the future and stuff.
And there was also Rise of Legends, sort of like Big Huge Games' answer to Ensemble's Age of Mythology.
It's really nice to see RTS getting some attention again with stuff like Iron Harvest and now this. It's a genre that I love and yet there's so few games coming out for it. I really hope this doesn't end up being a Starcraft 2 and changing literally everything about the game just to modernize it.
Not surprised considering how popular AoE games were and how high the demand for a new game has been. Where there's money to be made, money will be made. The more competitive/e-sports friendly they make this, the worse game it will be, for me.
They got Charles fucking Dance for this
I'm pretty optimistic, regardless of Relic's recent blunder. Recruiting whole groups of units instead of individuals and being able to specialize them like in Dawn of War is something I always miss about other RTSes and opens up a lot of possibilities for making each civilization unique

Let me build giant forts and towers please.
