I don't mind it. Sometimes people need a person to be straightforward and unsympathetic. Usually, when I'm feeling bad about myself, I try to look at it from an objective point of view and realize that I look like a jackass to the average person.
I think FP does a good job of bringing empathy and cold, hard facts in equal measure.
