You can already ride the kicksled where I live. Just last week you could see the asphalt.
I live in Australia, which actually belongs to the southern hemisphere, so I'll be following this guide to the letter.
Yeah wearing summer clothes outside right now sounds good to me! Australians know how to roll (in budgie smugglers).
Sandals right? Flipflops?
Yep. Your intelligence, it's showing! But, on a serious note; I find this thread's timing with the "I bought a Ushanka" thread funny.
Shrimp. Put it on the barbie.
You make me want to thrust sharp objects into your eyes.
You make me want to thrust sharp objects into your eyes.
Oh how I love spreading the stereotype.
Oh how I love spreading the stereotype.
That's not a thrustable sharp object -- now THIS is a thrustable sharp object!
Risk getting hypothermia. What a fantastic idea... Don't pretend you have the slightest idea what you're talking about. You sound like you're trying to be Ray Mears or something.
Ray Mears would show people how to make a thermal jacket out of moss and algea.
That's not a thrustable sharp object -- now THIS is a thrustable sharp object!
I can see you've played your knifey spoony before.

That's awesome.
And I thought michigan was bad.
And I thought michigan was bad.
In michigan, you're lucky if the bottom half of your car doesn't rust off from all the salt
In michigan, you're lucky if the bottom half of your car doesn't rust off from all the salt
Salt doesn't cause rust.
Stage 5: (When it actually snows) Try to see how long you can walk around barefoot in the snow. Trust me, you'll build up an endurance. Lay down in the snow, see how long you can do that (surprisingly long, actually) How about no
A long time ago I made a video from when me and my friends went sledding and we decided to take our shirts off and be hardcore. It wasn't too cold. The snow doesnt even stick to you, so as long as it isn't windy outside you can walk around in a tshirt and be in snowball fights and stuff without getting cold.
You're really trying hard to get gold member here aren't you, like we don't know how to prepare for winter..
You're really trying hard to get gold member here aren't you, like we don't know how to prepare for winter..
If you wanted to call me a try hard, this might be a better example of a thread :P http://www.facepunch.com/showthread.php?t=843191 Also, the average facepunch user doesn't know how to do a lot of basic crap, have you SEEN half of the fast threads these days? Also, actually read the first post.
I did read the first post, but the basic thing to do would be to wrap up warm instead of exposing yourself. Anyway you said it yourself in one of the Ask about the forums thread.
I did read the first post, but the basic thing to do would be to wrap up warm instead of exposing yourself. Anyway you said it yourself in one of the Ask about the forums thread.
I did. I'm not going to lie.

These are not good ideas, you could severley damage your feet and other body parts
I live in Texas, I don't have to worry about this :D Also, I fucking love the cold. Shit feels good.
Or, be a man and let the awesomeness of keep you warm.
Fires help.

Oh man, that would be perfect when you sit in front of a window on an early clear Christmas eve morning with warm blankets over you, just staring outside.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acclimatization
When humans move from a cool or temperate environment to a hot, dry desert environment or vice versa, they should spend up to seven days acclimatizing to the change in their environment. This lets the body make internal adjustments (see homeostasis) to compensate for the change in environmental conditions. If people do not acclimatize, then the person is at higher risk of heat related injuries (heat stroke, heat cramp, pneumonia). A heat acclimatized person will begin to sweat earlier and more intensely under heat, have a lower heart rate, and a lower skin temperature. The salt content of sweat also decreases as people acclimatize.[2] Acclimatization to high altitude continues for months or even years after initial ascent, and ultimately enables humans to survive in an environment that, without acclimatization, would kill them. Humans who migrate permanently to a higher altitude naturally acclimatize to their new environment by developing an increase in the number of red blood cells to increase the oxygen carrying capacity of the blood, in order to compensate for lower levels of oxygen in the air.[3][4]
