they are putting destiny on battle.net
what
I didn't catch the full context, but apparently their excuse for it was that "people are toxic"?
It's kind of funny. Since there was literally no way to communicate in Destiny 1, let alone even organize groups with randoms, I was pushed to third-party LFG sites, which were way more toxic than any in-game matchmaking ever could be.
pc version sold through battle.net exclusively
ahahaha you god damn idiots
"there's this place where all the gamers gather and all the best games are and i have this friend who wanted to be here in person to tell you"
"here's some guy from blizzard"
what did you think people were going to think from that monologue, there was audible confusion in the audience
:snip:
I thought for some reason gaben was about to show up for this shitshow, I'm glad I got something much more hilarious.
just what i needed on my computer, a fifth program dedicated to selling and launching video games.
I'm fine with the game being on battle.net, never had any problem with the platform.

I don't care that it's on Battle.net, I always talk about how it's dangerous for Steam to have zero competition - but the way he talked in all these insanely vague terms and somehow expected people to not think 'steam and gabe newell' was so misguided i don't know where to begin
that is not something you hype up, just say "it's on battle.net"

I think it being exclusive to the platform is a little eh, but it updates and downloads super fast so whatever I suppose.
not gonna buy this crap, i won't be making a damn another account for another fucking platform just to play one damn game.

Battle.net is barely competition, it's literally just a platform made by blizzard to sell blizzard things.

that seems like a REALLY petty reason to not play a game. are you sure you just weren't interested in the first place?

I mean there's only a select few games on Battle.Net
I didn't think steam at all, everyone gets on steam pretty much.
I'm not gonna buy this if I have to do it through Battle.NET. I've had nothing but poor experiences there with delayed payments, heavy restrictions on how I can add and spend money, etc.
tbh who doesnt have a battle net acct at this point.
still find the move to battle.net weird but it makes sense.

You're over exaggerating a pretty solid platform tbqh. Plus it's really only for Blizzard (and now Activision) games, and it's not a storefront trying to push services on you 24/7. If there was a golden standard for a secondary launcher, Battle.net is it.
It's the first time Activision has released one of their titles on Blizzards client, and the first time a non-Blizzard game has been on it. I wonder if this is going to be a trend.
they are putting destiny on battle.net
what
Activision/Blizzard putting their pseudo-MMO RPG on their service that already is used by their other MMOs and RPGs? How absurd.

I have my doubts, but there was that news of Battle.net being rebranded to just Blizzard. Which is weird, but could be indicative of that.

it's not taking customers away from them and I don't think that's wanted or needed
just good for steam to not have literally every major release, monopolies are no good
Oh my god, since Destiny is going to be on Battle.net - does that mean we have Destiny classes and characters coming to Heroes of the Storm? :v:

I think HotS is solely Blizzard properties, though it'd be neat to see Cayde, Ikora, or Zavala.
I wonder if any other Activision games are coming to Battle.net/Blizzard App/whatever its called this week
I can finally use the 71 cents that have been sitting in my b.net account for 2 and a half years
at least the soundtrack seems to be decent
This may be really interesting as I saw it on Twitter.
If you've been a heavy WoW player and do a lot of auction house trading, you could convert your gold to B.Net balance and buy Destiny 2 online for free.
Neat.
i just want halo to be good again tbh
i just want halo to be good again tbh
that'll never happen as long as 343 continues their mandate of fucking it up as much as possible
It makes me a little disappointed with destiny 2. I joined Destiny when Taken King came out and I really enjoyed it, but it always seemed like the reason people complained before that and at launch was lack of content. I don't want to be waiting for the "taken king version" of destiny 2 that actually has a lot of content. I also really liked the crucible before with 12 players, and 8 just seems weak. I hope we get more information about this coming up.
