Can't wait to get the dvds for it.
Pretty much the only thing I asked for from my entire family for Christmas is Breaking Bad on DVD, well that and the new Black Keys album.
does any one have a streamed season 4 ... i cant find the dvd's anywhere
The DVD set for season 4 isn't even out yet.

I like how the comedy works in this. It's usually a really serious drama type show, but then you get the odd lighter moment or scene that makes you chuckle. Plus Saul is always funny

It's never an unrealistic forced humor; that alone makes the writers seem so much more talented than most others.
And then there's Jesse playing RAGE. I like how the only inconsistencies in the whole show have to do with product placement.
Well he was playing a fake version of rage that looked like a rail shooter. It was product placement, but it wasn't a date inconsistency since what he was playing either doesn't exist or there's like only one specifically made for that scene.
I thought someone said earlier that it was the mobile device version?
He was playing it on console though. IMO bickering over product placement like that is annoying as hell. They could've put any game in there as long as it helped serve the purpose of the scene.

In a weird way it kind of helps the audience tie itself in with the plot and characters to make things feel much more believable. Plus, I don't think Rage being in the show was product placement, it just helped complete the scene(s); same with the Dodge Charger. A teenage kid finds out his once middleclass dad is loaded and is getting his first car, I think the first thing we'd all want is a brand new popular brand car. In my case I'd love a Camaro or even the Charger.
Rage isn't product placement? What about the case just sitting on his shelf a few episodes later?
That'd be the set designer's responsibility. I leave my cases around when I play Xbox, so it had to come from somewhere.
Rage isn't product placement? What about the case just sitting on his shelf a few episodes later?
I think it was there as a brief reminder of how he was acting and to have some foreshadowing for what was about to come. [sp]Him shooting that guy after the drug meeting, I mean.[/sp]
It was product placement. It's obvious. And while they didn't need it, it wasn't overly obnoxious I guess. The shooter was all that was needed. They didn't need to splash RAGE across the screen when he tried again.
Just finished watching the first episode... Gonna go watch the second in a bit, despite the fact that it's twenty past one at night over here :v: absolutely loving it so far
I WISH I could watch it all over again fresh. I envy you evlbzltyr.
why are you guys raging on rage it wasn't bad at all
"That's what the kids would call 'epic fail'." :v:
I didn't even know it was supposed to be a real game until I read about it later on another forum. It doesn't really matter.
I kind of expected you guys to whine more over the sexy Dodge Charger that Walt spent like 30 minutes doing doughnuts in and then proceeded to explode. Rage gets a few blurry seconds onscreen time and it's a big deal. :v:
Because Rage felt forced. The charger did not.
Wait wait wait, the huge billboard and the complete scene dedicated to doing doughnuts in a Dodge Charger isn't forced? Plus the Charger was in more scenes than Rage was. It was already a fairly well known fact that Jesse has played games in the past so him playing a fairly recent game makes sense; I will give you the fact that Rage was on screen for a while in one scene but that helped the viewers get a taste of the battle Jesse is fighting inside himself. They could have used any game and it would've been considered forced, so I don't see the big deal.
Because Rage felt forced. The charger did not.
I don't think it felt that forced. It was better than most tv shows that have a character playing a video game, where you don't see the screen, you hear 8-bit noises and they're rapidly pushing every button on the controller as hard as possible.
That's great Can you PM with the shirt website link if you manage to get it printed? [editline]30th November 2011[/editline] Also this is still the best thing ever
My Mexican buddy who I got into Breaking Bad was pretty excited when that song came on because he actually recognized the band.
If you compare the product placement in Breaking Bad to other shows, then it nothing compared. Chuck, one of my favorite other shows, literally spent like 5 minutes on one of the characters naming off all of the utilities a van offered and how safe it was for him and his family to be in. So a splash screen of Rage is still minute in comparison and I thank the creators for not forcing it down our throats. BUT in my opinion, Rage felt more forced than the charger. The charger scene felt more organic. Rage didn't have to be put on the screen, but neither did the charger billboard. Walt jr. could have simply thought about it. When looking at the actual product, indulgence was supposed to be shown for the car scene. As for the video game, all he needed was a screen asking him to try again. As for the car scene, Walt jr. needed to unnecessarily indulge in a vehicle, then Walt needed to go crazy in it. Because of this they needed a un-usual, 'higher than normal' class vehicle. A common car a teenage would want would be a charger. And IMO, showing off the fact that he got a charger and not some random muscle car, adds realism. Although, they no doubt got paid for it anyways. But for Rage, anyone with a minimum wage job can go out and buy a $60 game, and therefore brand name is not needed and is purely product placement. Of course this could all be because I really want a dodge charger and would put them into my show without pay if I had one. v:v:v
I hope we get news from the show sometime soon so you guys can stop bitching about product placement :v: Also, is it just me or was season 4 the most out of place season? And I'm not saying that only for gus' death, i don't know, everything felt different from the other seasons. Also, the acting felt kinda off in episode 6 (the one were Jesse gets inside a crack house and they find the message in the chicken bucket, and Walt says that he's the danger) But don't get me wrong, season 4 is probably my favorite, but it still feels somehow different.

It's not really all over the place and erratic like the other seasons. There is a clear goal and it's pretty much all focused on Gus.
I think it's because it's dark. BB has always been dark, but peppered pretty heavily with humor. Season 4 did nothing but get darker and more dire for the characters. That small little voice that delivered all of the jokes for the show wasn't there, and there wasn't anything to lighten the darkness of the show and it just grew all season.
That'd be the set designer's responsibility. I leave my cases around when I play Xbox, so it had to come from somewhere.
These guy's are a little "deeper" with this show, everything has a reason. Consider this, what were they doing when you saw the 4 letter word RAGE? Beating the living shit out of each other in a fit of... what... love?... Rage.
I agree about the need for an "indulgent" car, however I think it's also good that they used a real game. To me a generic "game over" screen they had mocked up would've felt sucky compared to a genuine one, regardless of what game it was. [editline]10th December 2011[/editline] of course this is really a small thing, but hell I wanna talk about this show more :v:
Watched the S4 finale with my Dad. Still just as nerve racking as the first time. Now he wants all the episodes :D
