Everyone I tell to watch it and explain what it's about says "That doesn't sound very good." I think it's because of the subject matter. They must be super straight edge.

Try to summarize it as something that revolves around a really smart science teacher who cooks meth. If you need to explain more then that to invoke interest, they aren't worth it.

Why does everyone hate her? Try and see things from her perspective. Her husband has been running around behind her back doing very shady and illegal things, lying to her consistently on top of the stress she's been under dealing with his cancer. Most people have a negative view on drugs and the criminal aspect associated with them. Her brother-in-law is a [i]DEA[/i] agent. He's made her an accessory to his crimes. She has morals and an image she wants to uphold and it's all very troubling to her, but she's tempted by the lifestyle. She's coming around now and I think she's going to play a very important role in keeping Walt out of trouble. They're both really smart and I think they'll make a killer team. I'm not sure what their relationship will be beyond that though but you can tell she realizes she loves him, despite all he's done and her affair.

I did that. I explained it with a little more detail than that to my boss and all he said was "That doesn't sound very good, let's sell drugs to the kiddies!" Yet he empathizes with Dexter and feels what he does is justified. Psychoooo.
