Hank would've been fine.
Yeah but he's not dead.
Yeah, if you think about it, Walter can be seen as kind of the villain, at least in Jesse's life. If it weren't for him, he would've escaped the DEA in the first episode and would've carried on with his life, probably not killing anyone in the process.
I see all the commercials where the cast members say Walter has gone bad and it's too late to stop him. I love this show because of it's no line between good and evil thing. Some people see Walter as a hell raiser, but I've never once seen him as the villain. I can rationalize every action of his in my mind.
But think about it this way: Walt's killed a bunch of drug dealers and probably isn't done killing them. But with Walt cooking meth and killing other drug lords at the same time, junkies are getting either the same or even less of what they had been getting. But now that Walter's making it, not only is it as pure and as healthy as crystal meth can be, the profits are going to a family in need.
He's not throwing more drugs into the trade, he's just replacing them with better alternatives, and isn't using the money for personal gain.
Is Jesse using the drugs?
All I see is him smoking cigarettes and going to his job and that's pretty much it. And I wonder if he's gonna die now, he's not afraid of it though.
I think that pretty much sums it up, but I'm pretty sure the twins still would have killed those people if walt were out of the picture.
[editline]10th August 2011[/editline]
how many people died in the crash?
It was 150 i think, not sure.
Yeah but he's not dead.
Yeah I know, but I mean, he would've been better off without Walt cooking meth and stuff.
Saw the first season so far and I have to say I am full of respect for walters actor. Would never have imagined him to be such a good actor.
I started to watch this show today, finished the first season, in about the first fourth of the second one. Really interesting idea for a show, very intense and complicated. Definitely gonna watch the rest of it. Oh, and I won't visit this topic until I catch up, I ruined some parts of Dexter that way for me.

Walt is a cyborg from the future sent to defend Earth from drug dealers and thugs.
Sorry

Well prior to him turning his house into a mess with the parties, we did see him do some meth so it's not the rehab worked.

I like how disappointed Mike seems at times when Jesse isn't willing to play a part in his games

it definitely made him appear more vulnerable. when stuff doesn't go the way he plans it to and he doesn't know what to do at that point, it certainly makes him look like less of a bulletproof, unbeatable guy, two characteristics he usually carries around.
idunno just thinkin
I liked Jesse's "If you were gonna kill him you wouldn't have blindfolded him" thing.
I'm just liking Jesse a lot this season. Especially that bit with him racing around the gocart track. And the fact that he's apparently got some relatively deep tracks from El-P - one of my most favorite artists ever - bumping his speakers every now and then.

He's great in Malcolm in the Middle too, where I first saw him.
I saw him in Seinfield the other day. So weird.
I'm on the third episode of season 1, so far I am absolutely loving it, amazing show.
Oh shit that was the little kid's joint hahahaha

I am really wondering where they are taking jesse hopefully you find out next episode
Latest episode was a bit of a let-down for me, but at least they're trying to make something happen again. Admittedly, it was an improvement, but 90% of the episode was still just wasted air-time. The exchange between Walter and Skylar about the believability of their story, for instance, should have been a fourth as long as it was. We dwelled on that one single scene for over fifteen minutes, and while it was nice to see something other than every character in the show stewing in misery, the scene was just a huge waste of time from a story-telling standpoint. The dialog was believable and interesting, sure, but they could have pressed the same point better in less than five minutes.
The entire episode was essentially pointless fluff leading up to a cliffhanger, and what I find most disappointing about that is that this was the best episode of the season.
I'm glad you guys are enjoying this, but I don't think I'll be staying with the show much longer. I suppose I'm obligated to give it the rest of the season, but unless there's a dramatic change circumstances, season 5 won't count me as one of its viewers.

It's not for everyone sure, but the pace of the show is entirely built around obsessing over the details. For example, the first two episodes of season 1 delt entirely with Walt and Jesse trying to dispose of a body, a process that 99% of shows would resolve in about 30 seconds. I still find the show pretty invigorating even when nothing's happening, as the way it's filmed and the quality of the acting is so top notch that it's hard to look away. In fact I found the shootout with Mike at the beginning of the last episode to be by far the worst part of the episode, as it was totally predictable and boring.
Giving more insight on what Gus has Mike doing was amazing. I loved that scene, it's one of my favorite ones and I don't see how you're saying it was boring.
Of course we knew Mike wouldn't die, but that was half the fun in the scene.
honestly if i were one of those two guys mike would have died. they were retards jumping into the back at the same time. in a situation like that you always have one guy go ahead and one guy cover you.
i dunno, that was stuck in my head the entire episode.
also it bothers me that people are getting "bored" with this season. even some of my friends who like the show think the same thing. a show doesn't have to be balls out gun-fu every other moment to be interesting. so far i'm liking it, it's like a really good stew. at first it's just a basic pot of water but over time you throw more and more stuff in and eventually it becomes something wonderful. why can't people see the ominous foreboding that's so thick you could cut it with a knife?

Well usually when I read someone's well constructed opinion on a show or movie or something, my mind sort of shifts towards that opinion, but luckily this hasn't been the case. Every episode is better and better, in my opinion. The only thing I dislike is the 13 episode limit, and that after this is over, it's another year of waiting and after that all will end, apparently. That and I still feel that they owe me 6 more episodes after the first season being so short, but all is well because how good it was.
Oh well, as long as it keeps being breaking bad, I'll be happy.
[editline]11th August 2011[/editline]
also, I like that even with predictable scene's and shit, they still manage to pull through, when the shootout at the beginning of bullet points ended, I thought "well ok that obviously would happen", but then Mike tried to put his ear back together and it tied it up perfectly, making that scene awesome.

You'd think if you were to fill the trailer up with that much lead first you might believe if someone were in there they might be dead.
I just jumped in here for a quick question: When will the Season 4 finale be aired, did they release the date already?
I like to catch up with a show when an entire season has been released, but I also wanna watch Breaking Bad again already...

I don't blame her.
Without looking at any comments in this thread to avoid spoilers, I gotta say, this show really makes me hate it's female characters. About three are worth calling characters and each of them make me pissed off. And I just started season 3.

Also didn't the two dealers kill a kid or something?
