I believe it is. I remember reading somewhere that Vince wanted to film somewhere else but AMC told him he had to shoot in Albuquerque due to some broadcasting tax or something. He wasn't too upset because it allows him to get some amazing visuals he said.

if you miss 300 degrees, it could turn brown and gross. you have a very, very little amount of room for mistake there or you could ruin the batch.
once it reaches 300 degrees, take it off the stove and pour it into a mold (i used a baking sheet w/ anti-stick spray so it doesnt stay forever) and leave it in the open for about 1-2 hours, break with hammer and enjoy.
it tastes like cotton candy, albeit very hard to chew. you can suck on it for a good while. will update when have crushed with machete handle and shorted off blade.
