Trees get in my way when I try to walk.
There's some pretty cool trees that I'd love to have at my house when I get one.
OP, if a tree falls in the forest, and nobody is around, does it make a sound?
Depends what your definition of "sound" is. If it is like a vibration that can be heard, then yes, it does. If it is a vibration that is heard by something, then no, it does not.

Wow, you're a real tree expert. Thanks.
Fuck your North American trees.

Gum tree :D (Eucalyptus)
your point is?
His point is that trees play a very important role on this planet and if we continue cutting down trees, we will ruin entire ecosystems and fuck over the planet even more.

Not to mention that not only do trees provide oxygen, they suck CO2 out of the air, use the carbon for themselves, and spit the O2 back out. They are man-made pollution recycling machines.
I hate hemlocks!

And the creatures all have fled
Why do you hate Hemlocks? Did they bully you as a child and fling you from tree to tree?

There is a piece of paper next to me that was probably made from a tree.
Fun Fact: General Sherman is the oldest tree in the world
I can't bring myself to look at the gray picture of trees for too long. I'm afraid it's a screamer, and everytime I scroll up to look at it again, I freak out because it "moved."

How about some unique, cool trees?
Ginkgo Tree - Ginkgo biloba

Extremely unique is the Ginkgo Tree, which is the only living species in its genus. Ginkgo trees are commonly used ornamentally. At the bombing of Hiroshima, every organic thing within two kilometers of the blast was killed excluding four Ginkgo trees, the four of which became healthy again and are still alive today.
Sequoia Tree - Sequoia sempervirens

Native to California and southwestern Oregon, the Sequoia is a massive beast of a tree. Its lack of resin makes it resistant to fire and it is an important lumber species in California. Hyperion, the world's tallest tree standing at 115 meters, is a Sequoia.
African Baobab Tree - Adansonia digitata

The African Baobab Tree is a very cool-looking tree. It bears fruit that is very nutritious and is a common food in Africa. One tree in South Africa has a diameter of about 50 feet and carbon-dating has been used to estimate its age at about 6000 years.
OP, what causes some trees to split into two trunks at the base? I've noticed this with spruce and poplar mostly. I've even seen a spruce tree split into three equally-sized trunks half-way up, as well. I figure that a fence or other obstruction could cause this, but there's usually nothing to indicate that they were ever blocked with something.
a tree once broke my arm, that bastard :(

I've seen what you are talking about with trees like oaks. I am actually not positive if it happens with all trees, but when a tree such as an oak is cut down, multiple trunks will regrow from the stump.
