Even tough I'm arachnophobic, I find spiders cunning. I try not to freak out on them nor kill them. But it's still pretty nasty to run into a spiderweb in a forest and find one sitting on your nose. and I want to get a tarantula
I don't think you are arachnophobic if you want a tarantula...
Here is the type I used to have: Chilean Rose. Bear in mind this isn't one of my old ones.

Certainly. Go ahead. :)
And to answer your question, I sold her when I no longer had the space for her.

The type I would love to have: Cobalt Blue Tarantula.
What an amazing shade of blue. :v:

No more venomous than most other tarantulas, which is to say not very harmful. A tarantula bite is effectively no more painful or dangerous than a bee sting. I believe there may be exceptions, but I'm no expert. Of course, you can be allergic to the venom if you are unlucky.
Most tarantulas won't bite you unless you pester them. They warn you before they try though.
Yeah, but theres a picture of some spider porn floating around here in a early 2010 thread.

Damnit. Who is sending photos of me around?

oh ok, I thought the cobalt blue tarantulas were one of the ones that were aggressive or had venom that was potent to humans
I love you too spider. :3:

oh shit page king.

A normal spider I would scream and kill it, but that one is just so darn cute I would have to pet it.
They're as beautiful as they are pissy. :v:
Don't poke and annoy them then. :v: Or they will be pissy.
I don't see many different types of spider anymore. :( I mainly see the common House Spider. (Pretty big grey ones that are notorious for appearing in your bath.)

I'm afraid of speed and heights that doesn't stop me from doing dropoffs and riding downhill.
I'm a manly kind of phobic, I watch my phobias in the face and laugh at them while I shit myself.

While it may not stop you from buying a tarantula, it wouldn't be nice if you were to try and pick it up and then dropped it in fright. Or did something to agitate it.

Actually it was to my understanding that Cobalt Blues are just naturelly aggressive compared to most tarantulas (New World/Old World and all that jazz).
I just took this moments ago:

I've been watching this orb weaver for several weeks, and she's getting HUGE.
I punch spiders moving around near me on sight. If they're stationary, I retain my cool long enough to get a piece of paper or a jar and move them outside since they're quite friendly usually. 'S just my arachnophobia. :sigh:

Please. My dad was leaving to work one day so I thought nothing of it and continued what I was doing. Next thing I know he was screaming like a girl. So I went downstairs and right on the screen door was a orb weaver which it's leg span was the size of his head. Those things can get scary big.
I hate spiders, but i love these pictures. Maybe my fear is gone :D...........Or not :ohdear:

I seriously doubt it was as big as you say.
I'm assuming you're referring to leg span, but that's still more than I'm willing to believe.
The largest ones only get leg spans of 4-5 inches.

Yeah it's the leg span I'm referring to. Guess I didn't make that clear huh? Plus I was looking at it from some stairs through a glass window. Might have changed it's size to look bigger.

Yeah, I figured that's what you meant.
Still, a 5-inch leg span is a huge spider. The picture I posted is a spider that has maybe about a 4-inch leg span.
Head-sized spiders would be terrifying indeed.
Orb Weavers are beautiful.

You know, if you took off their abdomen, they kinda look like striders.
During winters we got these fuckers crawling around in our house.

sometimes they are huge, one night i had one in my room but i lost track of it, haven't slept that night.
I just found a small spider taking care of It's meal next to my desk. I'm ok with it because I know it's too small to kill me. What should I name it? :3:
Name it...Hulk..

And that might mean something if tarantula venom were deadly to humans, but it isn't.
Im lucky I don't live in the US. I'd be freaking out to know that you could have BlackWidows in your house :ohdear:
