this feels like it's been ctrl-c/ctrl-v'd Anyway, I'm somewhat smart,and in high school, and since i was a kid, I've wanted to know everything. I enjoy learning new things about the world before me, so here's some advice, always ask questions, find something you know nothing or little about and try to find out everything about it. If it's true that you have a well-paying job, you can do so much, for example vist the LHC, go to classes, visit museums. Life's only boring if you let it be. Alright, here's serious response: Have you heard about multiple intelligences? There is no real meaning to the phrase "I am the smartest guy I have ever met" because it simply can't apply-- someone with high (or even AVERAGE) "social" intelligence knows to avoid saying things like that, even as a clincher or icebreaker-- the immediate response is hostility, etc. You may be brilliant at taking tests. But that doesn't mean that you're some genius or should go about bragging about it. Humility is a valued trait, and a lack of humility is seen just as negatively as a lack of intelligence. I'm honestly not sure how you could have gone on so far not knowing this. Outside of this, your entire post is highly unlikely. What would a member of a fortune 500 company be doing here, of all places? This is a website for a modification of a game targeted at teens, and nothing about this discussion board screams "intellectually stimulating", a trait I assume you would value in a board you chose to frequent. In terms of actual advice: Stop mentioning your intelligence. Should you be as smart as you claim, it'll come out on its own. Stop using absurdly long words. It makes you seem arrogant (don't ask me how it works, it just does). (continuing advice, just broke it up here) I doubt anyone on this board can honestly answer your question from experience. It's just something you have to figure out for yourself. If I can give any advice, it's the following word: Network. In the modern world you can't just work by yourself and expect to accomplish anything. In closing-- why the fuck am I responding to this? It's pretty clear it's a joke. Might as well throw in some actual advice.

OP, don't just disagree with me, whip out the thesaurus and say something. I can verify those test results for you if you want. Also Itszutak, you're very right about everything you said. Plus, people learn in different ways. You have visual learners and auditory learners and kinesthetic learners, et cetera. IQ tests tend to cater to one specific type of analytical thinking. Really all an IQ score shows is how well you can take an IQ test.

Unless your reasoning is that you've faced considerable difficulty in your own life then I could quite easily say that your subjective experience in this area means little to the bigger picture of approximating human intellectual ability.

I keep seeing it and I wish it had a much more simple label then: "I think I'm really smart, but I have few social graces and will openly attempt to mask a brag about myself that, in reality, shows all of my weaknesses and arrogance in plain sight." It's not quite delusions of grandeur because there is always doubt or personal annoyance. Is it an aftershock of it?
