Ehh, that is the moped law sir, I am getting a motorcycle...
I'm pretty sure it applies to motorcycles too
Ehh, that is the moped law sir, I am getting a motorcycle...
You're 16 correct? You're legally only allowed to drive something that has a 50cc engine, and can go a maximum speed of 31mph.
Then you need to be 17, read son, read.
I am getting a PROVISIONAL so no, I do not need to be 17 at all. You need to know your stuff!
You're 16 correct? You're legally only allowed to drive something that has a 50cc engine, and can go a maximum speed of 31mph.
*Facepalms*
say hi to cutting your life short
pussy
I am getting a PROVISIONAL so no, I do not need to be 17 at all. You need to know your stuff!
Then you can't ride anything above 50cc / 50km/h, you seem to be missing the point its still classed as a moped no matter how it looks, go read the site you linked.
Then you can't ride anything above 50cc / 50km/h
Correct, I can not ride anything above 50 cc/ 60 mph.

I'd like to point out that he didn't ask for a lecture on what speed your allowed to go, but what bike you guys thought was better.. If you get pulled over for speeding just tell the police you got it de-restriced - If they actullay give a fuck seriously they don't give two shits usually.. It's happened to me a few times and police really don't care.

cool but i dont care op
Joshdasmif, all I can suggest is that you test ride both and see which you like better. Remember to ride like everyone is trying to kill you (or that you're invisible, depends who you ask) and don't skimp on gear; Leather > textile.
cool but i dont care op
Then don't reply?
Joshdasmif, all I can suggest is that you test ride both and see which you like better. I have already drive an RS and it was very nice to drive. I have not yet drove an MX however so I will be able to tell which I like better.

[editline]04:29PM[/editline] By the way OP both of the bikes you posted are 2 stroke, so when you top up the fuel you have to put oil in at the same time, 4 stroke you don't have to.

It is annoying having to do this all the time I can guess.
Correct, I can not ride anything above 50 cc/ 60 mph.
good sir... 60mph is about 100km/h :downs:

Sorry to burst your bubble but anything bigger than 50cc you cannot ride until your 17 in the UK (and with reference to CBT - you ARE in the UK..). A 125cc, which I would hazard a guess as to what those are, can only be rode once 17.
good sir... 60mph is about 100km/h :downs:
And I can tell you, I will not be going long distance so I would be lucky to reach top speed on it. Revs would be too high and I would start worrying after a while about engine overheating. May be wrong but when I looked into getting a bike a few months back these were the restrictions that I found. god damn automerge

Also my moped easily hits it's topspeed which is 80km/h, no need for straight roads really.

You will have a year to wait until you can ride it. I'm just making sure you know this before you get one, its called advice.
the person you had quoted said you can only ride a 50cc motorbike with a max speed of 50km/h, not 100.
I am getting a motorcycle which can go 60 on a straight.
Your getting what looks like a 125 when you are 16. You will have a year to wait until you can ride it. And Josh don't be one of those retards who drives round in a hoodie.

[editline]05:35PM[/editline]
I am getting a motorcycle which can go 60 on a straight.
then it is illegal.
My lawnmower is faster than this.
2 stroke 50ccm can go like 120km/h so it's not slow, also 2 strokers are very good to tune ( performance ), but you really need to know what you are doing. But if you live in country wich belongs to EU then they have restrictors wich will set top speed 45km/h, so lurk around the internet to see where they have placed them and remove them, nothing hard if you know little about engines.
A 50cc is capable of going 60mph+ de-resticted. If you get caught speeding nobody cares. Sure it might not be legal but your able to do it.
Psygo it doesn't really matter though.
