That is a good plan, I might actually do that!
But to be honest when you've been on the road for about 10 minutes it's alot less scarey.
I found the scareiest part was not knowing what to do at intersections/roundabouts, so reading the highway code will help with that if you have the same problem.

Also for those interested what I drive:
Not amazingly fast, but the engine is solid and it's easy as hell to fix with a Haynes manual.

Ah, the joys of 100+ MPG, cheap tyres and cheap insurance. Not to mention short wheelbase and a good turning circle. If I lived in London I'd consider getting one of those, or the 250cc CBF as well as my current bike.
My bike at the moment (blue and white one).

The CG really is a city bike, I live in Devon with alot of country side, so I could do with something with a little more speed.
When I get more used to the road (Still nervous as hell :frown:) I was thinking of getting a NSR or CBR, but then again I may as well just do my full licence when I get used to the road.
Make sure you buy some leathers!
Erm, I'd probably go on looks and sound if I was just going to ride it to the shops etc. Anything more serious than that I'd look at build quality and how easy it is to emergency stop.
Also in the UK, getting a moped instead of a proper looking motorcycle makes you look silly.
50cc=/=60mph it will not reach that.
The CBT is not hard.. it's just a long day, it's about 8 hours long, and it's actually really hard to fail, I ride a 125cc Honda CG and it's very fun. :buddy:

High five for owning the same model of bike, what year is it?
I must be suicidal if thinking a Suzuki Hyabusa is a good first bike. :geno:
From what my dads told me you'll only fail your CBT if you do something incredibly stupid, though I thought that the CBT was a full licence.
It's pretty much impossible to fail your CBT, all you have to do is drive round a car park, and then a little bit on the road and you pass.

Two hours on the road.
Two hours on the road.
Yeah you do like 6 hours of riding in circles and going round a course, then a tiny bit of theory, and if they think you're good enough, you go onto the road for the last two hours.
It's pretty fun, not hard.

And it's a 1999 Honda CG125 in blue. :downs:
Not just for OP, but for anyone else in the UK who is interested in getting their CBT done then getting a full Cat A license.

Very useful website, may clear up some stuff for some people.
Have fun shitting up the roads with your bad driving for everyone else, and dying in a horrible road accident two weeks from the date you start riding.
I will be getting my first motorcycle soon. Hopefully within the next month now!
I hope to start off on one of these babies:
Kawasaki EX500

Motorcyclists go on to be better car drivers, and as long as you're sensible you're as safe as car drivers.
Car drivers shit up the road a lot more than bike users, I've been riding for just over a year, with no accidents.
damn, when I read the thread name, I thought it meant like a bicycle, and I was like "damn that sucks"
50cc? Enjoy rocking the 25 miles per hour with wind pushing you
Yeah, my dad was telling me that is the only flaw with getting this motorbike right now. It is annoying having to do this all the time I can guess.
Most stations have 40:1 anyway.
That's not a bike. Get yourself a real motorcycle ,and come back to me.
I'd rather wait a year and get a car.
Cool man, I can't afford that shit.
You need to be 17 to drive anything faster than a 50cc 31mph bike.
Too bad man. In Finland the age limit is 16.
I'd rather wait a year and get a car.
Thats what I'm doing, all my friends are so hyped with all the bike stuff that they haven't even talked about saving up for a car. Basicly the last month at school has been the guys buying a bike calling all the guys buying scooters fags cuz they say it's for girls.
In before black jokes.
Both the MX and the RS can reach speeds of over 100 KM/h with the stock engine.
(Well the ones we have in The Netherlands can)
You need to bypass the electronic or mechanical Limiter.
This could be a ring welded into the exhaust or electronic device that cuts the spark when you go over 50.
MX=Nice
RS=Showoff fake motorbike.

That has a kickstart right?
They removed it in the 2004 bikes I think, so you have to bumpstart if you have dead battery, which is annoying.
Get the MX and paint it like the RS. Problem solved.
Too bad it isn't an MX bike.
[editline]6:18PM[/editline]
Neither of them are, to clarify.
say hi to cutting your life short
you're an idiot
I came into this thread thinking you were going to get a bicycle for your birthday.
Oh god, if he can't even get basic laws down for this he isn't going to last long on a bike.
