No it doesn't..
Yes it does.
Seriously, if I didn't date chicks that didn't listen to the same music as me I'd be one lonely motherfucker.
Same goes for other opinion based entertainment. I like Black Ops, on the xbox.
"OH GOD STUPID 12 YEAR OLD HURR"

Oh, I also play ArmA 2.
Yes it does.
Feel free to explain.
Intelligence is knowing what you do not know.
Yes it does.
You have somethin' to back up that statement?
the dude's a pretty religious guy and the chick is quite an athiest.
The man is either on a mission or is not pretty religious.
It shows what appeals to them, what they know, etc.
No if doesnt
No if doesnt
Okay, since you know everything. I guess there also is a war on terror now, too.
Okay, since you know everything. I guess there also is a war on terror now, too.
What the fuck are you saying?
Stop before this lasts for pages.
Well, music matters to me. I love my music and it isn't exactly today's style. I probably couldn't go out with someone who likes music I hate or hates the music I like.

What

See, you can't let something like that stop you from meeting people though, you could miss out on so many contacts and opportunities by not talking to some people for their taste in music.
basing a girl on music is like basing a girl on what flavor of fucking cheetos they eat
it's fucking stupid and has no meaning
What do I do if I can't find anyone in my school that I'm remotely interested in?
basing a girl on music is like basing a girl on what flavor of fucking cheetos they eat

Why does she eat those cheetos, and not another brand? Does she know what those cheetos are made from? What are those cheetos doing to her body? How aware is she of all of this, and other concerning factors?
This can be used to somewhat accurately determine intelligence level.

calm the fuck down you're overanalyzing this shit
Alright here's the deal.
I'm sure there are plenty of perfectly smart, respectable metal fans out there.
However, if I were to judge people based on their music like you do, I'd use the stereotypical metalhead, who are actually quite stupid.
I think metal is all fine and dandy, but I have no reason to think that just by listening to metal, it makes you suddenly smart and sophisticated.
And the other side of it is how you're judging them.
I am absolutely certain that most of the girls who you are talking to do not listen to Justin Bieber.
He's aimed at girls who are 6-12 years old, not high school girls.
They probably listen to either hip/hop (not like heavy rap, but hip hop like akon or some shit), pop (lady gaga, katy perry), or soft pop rock (plain white d-bags, taylor swift). They most likely do not solely listen to justin bieiber.
I bet there are also many of them who listen to something completely unexpected.
I was hanging out with this girl in her car and she got out to buy a coffee and I changed it to a station that was playing the beatles and I expected her to be all "eww old people music!" but she started singing along, which surprised me.

shit i don't know the answers to anyone of those questions
calm the fuck down you're overanalyzing this shit
Overanalyzing is a ridiculous concept.
Overanalyzing is a ridiculous concept.
I related this post to your avatar and it made me smile.
Also, no. You're overanalyzing.
Overanalyzing is a ridiculous concept.
What are you even saying??
Here's another thing: a bunch of people who have been in multiple successful relationships are all giving you advice that you are straight up ignoring by countering it with ridiculous logical fallacies that don't even relate to the topic at hand.
God I hope you're attempting to troll...
Alright here's the deal.

It's about the lyrics.
For example, people who listen to mainstream music are more likely to be dumb, drones, or they haven't looked into what music they like the most enough.
People who listen to shit with actual meaning or something of intellectual significance to it, tend to be the opposite.
People who listen to shit with actual meaning or something of intellectual significance to it, tend to be the opposite.
Lol, meaning and intellectual significance.
Someone's pretentious! (and making subjective claims)

i'm pretty sure most modern teenage girls today are down with the beatles
the people in my age group are the ones that usually don't like the beatles
but play the girls of my age group antony and the johnsons and they all cream their pants for whatever reason V:v:V
Or they could simply enjoy the tune.
Yes a whole part of music deals with the deep meaning of the lyrics, but music is also simply a way to enjoy life and express yourself.
Are you going to say that early african tribes were dumb and mindless drones because they enjoyed making loud festivous drumbeats even if they didn't really have "meaning"?
Intelligence is knowing what you do not know.
All humans are intelligent.
You are still a moron.

People who generalize others based on stupid things like music are also more likely to be dumb.

who the fuck cares about the lyrics?

But not the ones I normally see. Maybe they know the really popular songs like yellow submarine, but this girl was singing along to taxman, which was rather unexpected.
lyrics?

I'm listening to music without lyrics. I must be some sort of knuckle-dragger.
CHOPIN IS MEANINGLESS GARBAGE!
I agree, it probably has more insight into their personality than it does their intelligence level.
But for Christ sakes. THE MUSIC SOMEONE LISTENS TO SHOULDN'T FUCKING MATTER IN A RELATIONSHIP.
An example of something similar, my two friends are dating, the dude's a pretty religious guy and the chick is quite an athiest. They have arguments about that sometimes, but they've still been dating for well over a year. Ain't about what the other party's into, as long as they're into you.
Music only matters in relationships where I'm dating the person who doesn't have a lot of the same musical tastes I do. I love going to concerts of my favorite bands and I try to go to every one that comes into town. It would be a real detracting factor for me if the girl I'm dating is a huge fan of Justin Beiber style of music over bands like Avenged Sevenfold, Powerman 5000 or Disturbed. To me it would feel like a huge strain on the relationship if we didn't get out and enjoy many of the same genres of music. It's probably because of my musical background, but I find musical taste to be a big deal in a committed relationship.
