Waiting until marriage to have sex is retarded.
Not only is sex not that big of a deal, but you can't really say you know someone if you've never been physically intimate with them. You can learn a lot about someone just by having sex with them.
That, and what if you wait, get married, and then the girl sucks total balls at sex? Or turns out to have some kind of condition (whether it's physical or mental) that prevents you two from having enjoyable sex?
Stupid, stupid mindset.
Wait. As much as I agree with you, didn't you say how dealing with other cultures was a different matter? This is a cultural thing.
If he's doing it for a cultural reason then it's a different story. However, he did not state that, so I am assuming he is waiting until marriage because he thinks sex is something incredibly special that should only be done with "the one" and blah blah blah, simply because most kids say they are abstaining for that reason.
If he says "If I have sex before marriage my hands will be cut off," then yeah, I'd understand.
I used to have many friends and a wonderful girlfriend. Now, this year they have graduated and moved far away. I am all alone and my girlfriend and I broke up because it just wasn't working. I was very popular, but now I go through days where sometimes I don't talk to anyone at all. I sit and watch movies by myself all day and wonder what the heck happened, and I am very paranoid that I will be alone forever after I graduate from college in a couple months. I try to talk to people, and girls, not necessary in a flirtatious manner but just to have conversation. Usually I end up being ignored. I am a pretty attractive guy and an orientation leader with good social skills.
Advice that!

Once I get a new job (I hate looking for work so much...) I will be saving up for a decent bow. I want to get back into archery. Not just because I like it, but because I want to meet new people, and there are a few ranges in the area. What I'm getting at is you should find yourself a hobby too. You could get into clubs for amateur astronomy, fencing, dance, yoga... or even more traditional things like swimming or running. The internet makes this shit too easy, there is no excuse anymore. Hell, there are even gaming groups now!
Also, bolded part made me lol.
I get kids asking me stupid shit over Steam nowadays.
One kid was whining about how his life sucks because he's not social. I told him to take baby steps, starting at chit-chatting at school. He said he doesn't go to school. I asked why and he responds with "It's a waste of time and because I'm fat." I say he can't bitch about not being social if he's not in school (keep in mind that this is a 14-15 year old kid) and he could be using the fuckton of free time he has to stop being fat. He says he can't go jogging because he doesn't want to ask his mom if he can go jogging.
This continues for 15 or so minutes before I just say "You know what, fuck it. I can't help you."
Christ, he was literally asking me for a magic solution to his life that would involve no effort on his behalf, then got all pissy when I gave up, saying he thought I would help him and blah blah blah.
Fucking A.
But Maverick SUCCEEDING IS NOT SUPPOSED TO REQUIRE EFFORT don't you know that everyone knows that

Maybe it's because he was taught in school that basically his dick would explode if he had sex before marriage. That's essentially a summary of my sex ed classes. Condoms? WORTHLESS. Birth control? CRAP. No sex until marriage? THE ONLY WAY TO SURVIVE.

I want to socialize more, but I'm homeschooled and I don't have drivers license AND the two jobs I'm looking at getting as soon as I turn 16 have little to no socializing with people my age. :sigh:

You could apply to other places, certainly there are more options available to you than just those two.

Fast food and working at a shitty grocery store are my other two options. Neither of those two are any better for getting to know people my age.

I can't legally apply for anything yet, but my sister said she could practically guarantee me a job at the company she works for (Because she knows I'm a hard worker that wouldn't give anybody shit about the job I would do). The other is a job as a clerk for a lawyer and that wouldn't be very hard since I know at least 3 lawyers that are always needing extra help.
Okay, small situation here. My girlfriend is like angry AT ME for not being able to have intimacy with her for the next two weeks. We're both in high school and I work after school and watch my kid brother until my parents get home. So there's not too much time within the next two weeks that we can have time alone without getting caught.
All of these things are out of my control really, as they are hers. She thinks that I don't want to have sex with her or something and is getting angry with me. I told her that I'm disappointed about it, and that I'd love to be intimate with her all the time, but sometimes we can't have it the way we want, we're only 17 & 18. I told her that I'm sure we can manage, and just enjoy eachother's company when we do get the chance to be together until spring break and that sometimes when you love someone, you have to wait it out for a bit. I don't want our relationship to be based solely off of how often we have sex, because we have really good sex when we can. It just can't be all the time, we have obligations and responsibilities.
Am I being too irrational? I don't know any better way to tell her.
tell her to fucking grow up
i'm far too occupied with paying bills, working at hospitals, and telling kids on forums that they suck to worry about getting my freak on
[editline]13th March 2011[/editline]
though that's easy for me to say because i don't have to worry about getting my freak on
I told her that she was being immature about it, because she was like trying to guilt me and I obviously have little to no control over it and it's not even my fault. It's just life.

Do go on.
i'm studying for a medical degree which involves spending time at hospitals
nothing too major but i've seen some really nasty shit

This man does not know how to intelligently handle a problem with a female. Calling them immature will most likely get you nowhere. Trying to push your point using logic will most likely get you nowhere.
You have to break it down and take emotional baby steps with them. Let them explain how they feel, then try to explain how you feel. Instead of throwing down an ultimatum, compromise.
You have much to learn, young grasshopper.
maybe if you are dealing with an immature female
If she's getting mad over something like that (a situation he has no control over), then she is an immature female.
The girl I'm dating is fucking awesome. Doesn't give a fuck about anything. Gotta love it.
not giving a fuck about anything is the proper way of life
that's some buddha shit right there

ah cool.
Im currently applying for a class my high school offers for students who want to go into the medical field.
Its the second year of the course, we get to spend 6 weeks observing various wings and departments at a local hospital during our school time.

yeah i basically do a longer and more vigorous version of what you are doing
i also get to assist with medical procedures but only under strict supervision and only for minor things

ah.
Hopefully our school musters up more funding by my senior year, so i can take the third year of the course, which offers an EMT-B certification.
what departments do you spend most of your time in?

we don't really get to snoop around departments or anything like that. it's less about informing you of medical careers and more about learning your job which for me is general medicine

Give her sexual attention without having sex. Tell her via text or whatever what you look forward to doing to her when you're able to. Get her all excited, so when you do have sex it isn't like "oh we can finally have sex now." You can maintain the sexual energy of a relationship by doing shit like this, without constantly having sex.
And as has been said, don't use logic against women. They're inherently emotional beings, and so to argue with them logically will just piss them off even further.
The bigger picture, however, is rather worrying. The fact that she's getting legitimately angry at you because you can't have sex could be representative of a deeper issue, perhaps?
yeah again maybe if they are immature
past 21 you really can't say that for certain about anyone
Hmm maybe, I still think that's just how the female mind works at its very core. I think it's a fair generalization to say that males are the more logical of the two, whilst females are the emotional ones.
I mean sure, a mature, intelligent woman will use logic, and will not give in to being completely controlled by their emotions, but in the end if you're dealing with a woman, you will more often than not be successful if you can spike their emotions, instead of say, trying to get her to a logical conclusion.
Here's a drastic example. If there were no females in the world (or they all had 'male' minds), getting laid would be as simple as taking a piss. It's just a natural desire and requirement of being human. You would approach the female, and state quite simply "We both want to have sex, and we're both reasonably attracted to each other, so let's have sex." In a 'male', logical world, this would be no problem, would it?
But to bed a respectable female, you need to go through all the hoops and form an emotional connection with her so that she is comfortable enough with you to be in a sexual interaction with you.
And yes, this is being hugely general, but I think it's fair enough in this case.
Not sure if someone here said this first, if so then I'm just quoting it:
"Change her mood and not her mind." I think that just about sums it up.
i don't know about that, have you ever been around gay dudes?
plus my gf is more logical than me, almost to the point of being cold
i'll like give food and do tons of shit for my friends because they make me really sad with their problems and i try to help them with it. she'll be like "don't be fucking stupid like that, you barely have money to survive yourself" so again, can't be completely certain
but you acknowledge that anyway so no contest
i think it's mostly a societal thing, girls are told from a young age to be compassionate and social while boys are told to carry toy guns and shoot bad guys
