I thought he went above and beyond with his role in Django. What exactly do you mean "elevate the subject matter"? If you don't think he took his character in Django to the next level I'd recommend you check it out again. He fucking kills in most roles he plays, hits the right notes and sometimes makes it better than what I'm sure we expected.
