This would make for a great video game using the Natural Motion physics engine. I would actually probably buy it even though I do not like sports very much.
About as good as it is going to get.
Oh so you can elbow someone in the face at a combined speed of 18 miles per hour, but a light punch to the chin is a no go?!
You do know the main reason soccer players go down so much is to highlight the foul, it get the referees attention.
Have you watched a professional football match before? The highlights of the dives? Diving is pathetic and is almost ALWAYS to get a cheap foul and a free kick. I feel ashamed to be a fan of the sport sometimes, it's that stupid. I mean Kaka got sent off in the World Cup because a guy purposely ran into him then fell over and started rolling around and holding his face. Don't defend divers in football. Please.
Oh so you can elbow someone in the face at a combined speed of 18 miles per hour, but a light punch to the chin is a no go?!
It's implied that the impact from the elbow was an "accident", but a reff can't ignore a straight up punch.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say professional level American football has about just as many brutal takes downs and tackles as rugby or AFL. I could be wrong but I've seen some really fucked up tackles in the NFL.

American football is about short sprints and being a wrecking ball. It's like comparing a racing horse to a Clydesdale, they're used for different purposes.
My dad was an AFL footballer (back when it was the VFL) and his body is pretty wrecked, but it's all from the constant training and poor knowledge of joint health and the such. He knocked out a few guys too :v:
In Regular American football, tackles are tactically used, and in most cases necessary for each play by play to work. In AFL Tackles are something that you usually want to avoid, but are sometimes forced into it to recover (or keep) possession of the ball or put yourself on an advantageous position on the field(backwards tackles). The thing to remember is, elbows are your ribs life lines, keep your eyes closed, your shoulder, down and grit your teeth when going headfirst into a collision. If you slide tackle or try to catch the ball from long range, you WILL get hurt. It's almost a 100% guarantee, so rather than worry about avoiding it, mentally prepare yourself to overcome it and keep playing. Blood happens, don't be a baby. If your head bleeds don't flip shit you'll be alright. If you're bones are breaking that's your fault for not getting more calcium in your diet (We literally drank tons of milk each day to strengthen our skeletons). Just remember, nobody wins in a tackle, both parties are going to be getting a good bruise, so if you have to tackle, tackle smart, tackle hard, make it count.
There was an American football game that was being developed called "Backbreaker" that used Euphoria, but I don't know if it was released or not. It looked pretty cool.
It did end up getting released but I am pretty sure that it did poorly. I ended up buying it when it was something like $19.99. It did a great job of incorporating the physics engine into the gameplay but since I only bought it for the tackles, it got pretty boring due to my lack of interest in Football and sports in general.
Holy shit, this really is the country Saxton Hale is from
best sport in the world... i love you AFL..
Take note Americans, notice the lack of armour
maybe because we actually give a fuck about our players chumpstick
maybe because we actually give a fuck about our players chumpstick
the players simply couldn't play footy if they were in the armour and padding the nfl uses. there's a lot more mobility in afl compared to nfl. it's not because they give a fuck anymore than anyone else.
i mean in general, people who bitch about using pads in the nfl there are very clear distinctions between the NFL, the AFL, and Rugby Union; two are played by in-shape mid-20 year old men and one is played by in-shape 400 pound linebackers
Only reason we don't use pads in AFL is because the league originally couldn't afford them :v:
Eventually even this will get boring to them. How about we liven it up and release lions into the arena as well, and attach metal spikes to the ball, and perhaps set the field on fire? That'll be tremendous!
what a cunt
ftfy

I always thought it was smart to wear the padding. Then I realised that nearly all of them are bear men and that's why the padding was needed.
I played football for about a year or two, it's painfull, you don't have huge hits like this though
I played football for about a year or two, it's painfull, you don't have huge hits like this though
ahh yeah you do.. even in secondary school level, the hits are huge
