My hope is that they change it. As we learnt from the remake of 'Phycho' remaking the movies word for word, shot to shot totally fails. With any luck Bay could make this a totally new movie with the same generic plot. Then it would be mildly tolerable.
I just hope he won't make total action movie out of it.
POPCORN MOVIE for sure.
Exploding birds and a brooding protagonist who has phobia of the birds?
Count me in.
fyi it's not being directed by Michael Bay, it's just by his production company. Last word on it was December of last year, that the director would be the guy who did the Last House on the Left remake.
None of this makes me feel any better.

Why can't Michael Bay remake shitty films? Y'know, films that could be enhanced by having a crapload of CGI and tits and explosions and exploding tits thrown in?
Also, you just know that some convenient product placement is going to end up crucial to the plot, like they have to hole up in a Pepsi factory, or something.
Oh, come on, maybe we'll be surprised and no explosions will be seen during the whole thing...
The birds will puke acid instead
Bad Boys was good, and so was Armageddon. It's a fun movie, yet so many people hate on it.
Bad Boys II was meh.

They didn't predict it. It was announced in 2007 that Michael Bay is making the film.
After reading the article:

"Michael" and "Bay" are two words that are put together to make "disaster". No doubt about it. :argh:
What if it's "Michael Bay died in a horrific accident before he could complete his movie 'The Birds'"?
I don't see the disaster there.
I don't understand why everyone hate Michael Bay so much. I like his movies, he's my 2nd favorite producer after Steven Spielberg.
It's weird that you guys don't like awesome CGI explosions :3

That would be because real explosions are tens times more awesome:

He doesn't even use CGI explosions for Pearl Harbor, he uses actual dynamite.
