I like American Football better.
Elaborate.
I don't like Rugby because every Rugby player I've ever met is a moron and/or complete idiot. You also get the ones who pretend that they're tough and try to step all over you. No you asshole, I just punched your nose in, shut the fuck up. So based on that, I make the broad generalisation of Rugby players being morons and/or complete idiots, and taking that I also equate to the sport being shit.
The saying always goes "Rugby is a game played by thugs and watched by gentlemen, Football (Soccer) is a game played by gentlemen and watched by thugs"
Isn't American Football called Gridiron in other countries?
American Football for men. I don't enjoy playing it or watching it though, although the last time I ever did Rugby at school I turned out to be quite good at it =/
are we talking league or union here, because union is shit and league is supreme
Leeds Rhinos
this man has good taste
are we talking league or union here, because union is shit and league is supreme this man has good taste
They both have their good points I think. League makes for a much faster game. Union gives you some real tension and strategy.
I prefer Hockey as far as sports go, but I've always had respect for Rugby players. One of my childhood friend's Dad played Rugby, and he would tell us stories. One time he was telling us about some guy who got cleated across the top of the head and had to leave for stitches. But i think Rugby and Hockey are the sports where the toughest players play. I remember in the Stanley Cup playoffs a player took the puck to the mouth and lost a few teeth, but still came back to finish the game after getting treated in the dressing room.

Yeah... the saying used to be correct. It's sort of borked since the mid nineties. But the principle still stands :saddowns:
i dont hate rugby its just when ever i talk to somebody who plays it they think there all bad ass because they can play rugby
I think it's pretty awesome to watch but terrifying to play
Elaborate.
Because. I've never played rugby and I really enjoy American Football.
Rugby is good fun, I have a long list of injuries as a result. Also metal studs in a ruck ftw
I'd like to play it sometime. Just so long as this guy is on my team.
Rugby-loving elitists need to watch this video: In summary: you get hit with 3 times the force by players in gridiron football as you get hit in rugby, but you get hit around 3 times more per game in rugby than you do in gridiron. Also, if it weren't for pads, gridiron players would break bones on every tackle they make. And despite pads, players still regularly break fingers, ribs, collar bones, and more either without noticing or being sent back into the game just minutes after the injury.
I'm good at football. Just think it's rubbish. Everyones always so serious about it.
it's pretty obvious that you aren't good at football [editline]10:24PM[/editline]
I'd like to play it sometime.
I think it's a horrible sport.
It's funny because you have a WWE avatar.

I cracked three ribs playing football without pads, but I fucked up his collarbone pretty badly and dislocated his arm. Pads are needed to stop injuries like that happening on every play. I think rugby is equally badass as well though.
World Cup 2011 mofo. I live in Auckland
"boo I don't like sport because I'm terrible at it" come on that's the excuse 90% of you are secretly thinking in your heads
Actually I'd rather be doing intellectual things, such as learning a new scripting language, going on wikipedia and looking at some cool things, etc., rather then running into men much larger than myself with an inflated ball in hand. [editline]09:24PM[/editline] Which is why I hated PE. Thank god it's an elective now.
Rugby-loving elitists need to watch this video:
The who is most beast arguement is so stupid. It should come down to the gameplay if you want to see which is best and since that would be an opinon it doesn't matter. Still, I really dislike the stop start motion of Gridiron, nothings better than a flowing match of rugby union.

God forbid your schools want you to see a little day light, and run once a day... [editline]12:06AM[/editline]
holy shit look at his quads
God. They are the size of my torso...
League rapes union, but very occasionally I'll watch union.
Boring.
I couldn't give a shit about rugby. Football FTW.
Rugby is the manly Football. Football is the sissy's Rugby.

I don't like Rugby, I've found that small people with alot of skill do just as well as some brute with no ability to play.
I don't like Rugby, I've found that small people with alot of skill do just as well as some brute with no ability to play.
bad first post haha! jk haha
bad first post haha! jk haha
Yeah, I guess. But yeah, I got sick of being beaten by some fatass that could barely catch a ball, I tend to prefer non-organised sports like climbing :smug:
