It's (American) football for people who aren't pussies. I've never watched it personally, so I'm not sure if it's any good.

Some great tackles here.
Furthermore, Wigan Warriors all the way! Champions once more!

Wow, what a stupid and hypocritical statement! You call it a game for pussies and yet you also claim you've never seen it.... fucking retard!
I just got offered a place by my city's rugby club, which is weird because I'm really unfit and I'm in the C team at my college

nah, he called a game for people who aren't pussies.
I find it funny that people are claiming American football is for the non-pussies.
Does playing rugby clad in 25 pounds of body armour make you more of a man than playing it without?
Or unconscious....

Because they wear pads? does that make them real men? I keep telling you people this thread is for RUGBY not any other sport!
God the whole of NZ is so touchy about their haka. Always and uproar when Australia ignores them or gets too close to their silly dance. Essentially the All Blacks are warning about the oppositions impending death, so I don't see why the opposition can't fuck around.

Oh fuck this is hilarious, from when the all blacks were all white and didnt have a dance instructor.

Well thank you for educated post and valid observation but seriously go fuck yourself eh..... Fucking canuk!
I think it's a very manly but rough sport. But I wouldn't try it because with my body they would break me in two.
My friends keep asking me "When are you starting" "Are you gonna start" and my friends also say that I would be best as a Number 8 and something else which i can't remember.

Watching the Rugby 7's at the Commonwealth games. 15-a-side is much better to watch.
I am not great at sport but I still enjoy it.

I guess I'll be going for Toulouse
Rugby is for girls. Real men play Polo. Water polo if your extra manly.
I've played both American football and rugby on organized league levels.
Completely different sports. The only similarities are that the ball is roughly the same and it's a contact sport.
That being said, I've suffered way more major injuries playing football than I ever did playing rugby. Rugby is about tackling, football is about hitting. The pads are there to protect you from incredibly serious injury, but they don't really do much more than that. Football players still suffer from concussions almost every game, all kinds of shoulder problems, as well as the traditional knee injuries that plague football.
It's also important to realize that most NFL players only wear the helmets and shoulder pads. Look at your average lineman in the NFL and examine his shoulder pads. They're incredibly tiny and thin. Running backs and other skill positions not only have small shoulder pads, but don't wear leg pads at all. They simply put paper inserts into the leg pad slots on the pants so they can say they "technically" have pads on.
Playing rugby, I got a lot of cuts, scrapes, and bruises, but I never got the shit knocked out of me, which happened all the time when I played football. Both sports require a high level of athleticism, both sports are manly, but anyone that says rugby is more physically intensive than football has obviously never played football on a high level. Football is composed of short, explosive plays. You run, knock the shit out of someone, rest for a few seconds, and repeat. It's far more violent in nature than rugby. If anything, rugby is more civilized of a sport.

Hockey is better.
[editline]08:37PM[/editline]
Still cool I guess.
It's better than Football, in Football you just run and tackle line up and repeat. Rugby is more fast paced, actually uses your feet and you don't get 300 people piling ontop of you.
I've lived in the USA and Australia, come from the USA. So there's no nationality bias here.
